Are the loans that you are claiming against still active? Mine is - I will finish paying it in March 2012 and I am wondering if this is delaying my claim as the calculations will be a bit more complex.

I emailed Bob a week ago, have heard nothing and no money has been paid into my account.

Hi KezzerF, My loans and Overdraft PPI are no longer active, both accounts closed. It may well be the case that as your loan is still active that the calculations are a little more complex, however...there is a real delay in processing claims at the moment.

My Loan has not yet completed but I actually removed my PPI 2 years ago, Barclays accepted my case on the basis that I took out a loan as a consolidation which in the circumstances I couldn't claim against the PPI even if I wanted to!

I emailed Robert Diamond yesterday afternoon, after sending it I googled him and realised he is the CEO which made me feel like a bit of a plank! But, on the other hand if a customer contacts the office of a CEO directly they have to at least respond. An apology and a revised payment date would be good enough for me. I cannot be doing with no knowing, I have plans for that money and it isn't fair that they are holding it back purely because they are 'busy'

They have said to me that the quote I had on my acceptance letter was worked out by the following: How much I would have paid in PPI throughout the life of the whole loan. If you have changed your loan (increased or removed the PPI) the amount will need to be recalculated. So basically it will be a different amount. I was quoted a little over 3K for an initial loan taken out over a 5 year term. I have since increased by a small amount twice and removed said PPI. So god knows how much I should be getting. I have been told it has been recalculated and it is in the queue to just be paid back, but I've been in that queue for 30 days now!

A concern I have is that some people on here have contacted Robert Diamond and have been paid when mine has been outstanding for longer. When I have called Barclay's I have been told that you cannot jump the queue and I need to wait my turn. I emailed last night so will let you all know if I get a response. I do think its out of order that they do not seem concerned that they have broken an agreement. I joked with the manager that I spoke to that I would with hold my next loan payment in protest...that went down like a lead balloon and he wasn't impressed! I personally don't see the difference though! The problem with the letters we have all received with dates on them is only a 'Gentleman's agreement' so really we don't have a leg to stand on.
  • Hi

I too had been waiting about 15 days over the 40 promised days and after reading everyones experiences on here, i decided to email Bob Diamond. I had a phone call 2 days later to say they were investigating and the day after the call the money was in my account. Albeit a little less but the letter did say it was only an estimate!

The lady who called me was very very apologetic and assured me it was being looked into. I recommend emailing bob, even if you have to do it a couple of times.

Hope you guys get a response soon!

That is Fantastic news, well done!! I was silly enough not to put my phone number on the email but I keep checking for a response. If I haven't had a response by tomorrow I might send a gentle reminder. I could send him a link to his own website that states you will be paid in 60 days (start to finish). Can I ask, did they take the amount off an outstanding loan or credit card? I had an Egg card which Barclays have now taken over so its not their debt to clear in my opinion :-)

I called Barclay's again today as after reading on here some people had been paid who hadn't been waiting as long as others which didn't seem right.Again I was told that it was only delayed due to the sheer volume of complaints which is understandable. The guy I spoke to though said that mine was one of the most overdue cases he'd seen and that in his opinion I should have a payment in the next few days. Cant really take that as gospel though.
He did say that the payments team were working 20 working days behind so that might be a little hope for us all? 48 hours on and no response from the office of Bob Diamond.
  • well im up to 53 days now. so 60 days will be a week on friday ive emaild bob twice now and got no were but ill let everybody now when i get paid if they are working about 20 days late then it should be within the next 10 days
