Email Bob Diamond, it worked for me, 3 days later and the money was there and it was more than the estimate :)

Well done!!!!! My story so far......

    PPI - Barclaycard

May 2011 - Original request for refund sent in
15th September 2011 - Upheld and final offer
21st September 2011 - Acceptance received at Barclaycard. Told that it was likely that there would be 8 weeks delay (40 days)
17th November - Monies expected however nothing received into the account
17th November - E-mailed Mr Chan (Head of Barclaycard) - no reponse and no money in the account
18th November - E-mailed Mr Diamond just five minutes ago - now waiting!

Sorry; I meant to ask if he or a representative called back or they just paid up???

    Many thanks!
  • Hi

No response just money in account in 3 days :)
  • @ KesserF

Received monies three days after 40 day deadline which is not bad considering. Funny thing is they also sent me an acceptance letter as well as the deposit straight into my account. Finally worked out to 6k.....

  • Barclaycard received my acceptance letter 2 Nov, I did request a 'cheque' to be sent as I wasn't sure if they would notify when the money would be transferred into my bank account. Phoned on 16th Nov to find out when I should expect the money. They were very vague, I said weeks, months etc, 'can't tell you' was the response. I changed option to be paid by BACS as she said this would be quicker but can't tell me when as they have a many refunds to process. Has anyone got the refund this way and do they notify you when the money is going to be in your account? The amount is only £3k, does anyone think I should call back as I am sure they should be able to tell me when the refund is going to be in my account?

I gave them my bank details (Barclays) on the 21st September and am still waiting.......
  • Just called BarcLays regarding my claim - didnt get anywhere fast, they have a huge backlog and said I'd be lucky to get anything this side of Christmas let alone in the New Year....

Message to the Bald shiney one please get a move on! There are 1000's of us who are waiting for our dues...but when you want payment you take it without a fuss from us the customers - total disrepect.....RANT OVER!

I couldn't agree more Little Italy, they are quick to take money from us.

I really don't understand their logic of how they are paying people, some people don't even get to their 40 days and receive payment whilst the rest of us are over our 40 days and are told there is nothing that can be done at this time.

    Hi all

I had my letter from Barclays on 05.09.2011 to tell me that my claim had been accepted and I would be paid in 40 working days like all of you. Its now 17 working days late

I have made 7 phone calls to them now though and thought I would share what I have been told (its not that promising though).

    - They cannot tell me where I am in the queue apart from that its the payment queue I am in
    - They cannot tell me what date the payment team are currently working on (I thought I could work it out if I knew)
-They cant tell me exactly how much I will get after it had been recalculated
-They cannot speak directly to this team and no one else's claim is more important than another's (so basically screaming at them wont help)
-They said the team are working 7 days a week which actually means we have been waiting more working days than we think!

They have told me to just keep checking my account because that will be the first time I know its been paid.

One thing that one of them said to me and I had to laugh was 'Just think of how much extra interest you are gaining on it though, the longer it stays out of your account the higher it will be'!!!

Oh thanks sweetheart!! Because extra interest is really going to help me pay for Christmas, my MOT and a holiday which was only booked on the basis that I believed I would have the money two months before I go!

If anyone has any other stories I would love to hear them, especially if they are around the same date as my final letter on 05.09

Barclays are a joke....form an orderly queue please thats the kind of response I got from them. Email the CEO/Chairman whatever his job title is.....some of the forum have emailed him directly and got some form of response from either himself personally or his number two! Nothing ventured nothing gained I suppose. Email address
