A nice quiet day (but cold) here in the emids. After church this morning I rustled up a tasty casserole and dumplings with some top quality sausages I filched from MIL's yesterday. She was cooking 18 good sausages just to throw on the lawn for the foxes:eek: I made a case that her own grandchildren, daughter and favourite Son IL were far more deserving and quickly bagged them along with a fruit cake and one or two other 'bits'. LOL
Another 'bargain find' yesterday was DW tabs in Wilco on bogof and a pair of trainers to replace my 4 year old faithfuls which are splitting along the sole. £35 reduced to £20, reduced to £15, reduced to £7. I asked the cashire if I smiled sweetly and blew a big wet kiss could I have them for a fiver but she wouldn't play ball LOL
This afto I've found a sunny spot in the conservatory and snugglied down with my two cats to watch Lillies taped from Friday while Mrs MATH sat glued to QVC Craft Day in the sitting room! The three MATHLETTS plugged in their Ipods and tuned out LOL
The heating is chugging away cos it's getting quite nippy here and I've jammed the airer up against the study rad so the whole house smells of Lavender Sleep Easy softner - making me feel quite yawnful. I guess it really does do what it says on the bottle! LOL
Off to church in a few minutes then home for a nice tongue sandwich (stop it) and something 'Sunday nightish' on TV. I'm gonna ring my Dad and tell him I've saved him £150 on his buildings/contents insurance by shopping around which should earn me a few babysitting points to cash in at a later date. LOL
Enjoy what's left of the weekend

Hi there,
This has to be my latest first post ever on this thread. DS and DD and I went swimming at 9.30, mass at 11.15, shopping at 12.30 and home for 2.30. Then it was all hands on deck as we ironed, cleaned shoes, packed PE bags, did homework, tidied up, etc, before settling down for Ugly Betty. Very busy day but a good one.
DD got me a breakfast tray in Boots that I fell in love with (it's my Mother's Day present and I can't use it until then, apparently). It is a teeny wooden breakfast tray with an egg-cup, toast rack, champagne flute, wee bottle of bucks fizz and a small pot of strawberry jam. It should have been £15 but with 75% off came to just £3.75!!!! I know that I will use it loads so it is a true bargain. DD is a true moneysaver and she is only 10! (No emoticon that shows beaming with pride or I would do it here.)
ageandjo will read yesterday's thread but it sounds as though you need some hugs. ((((hugs))))
Time to feed the screaming hordes. Have a good Sunday night everyone."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

ageandjo just read the rest of yesterday's thread. ((((hugs)))) to you and yours. I don't know the exact circumstances of your family's tragedy but the death of any young person has to be mourned. My thoughts and prayers are with you now.
I remember XDH and I attended the wedding of his 23yo cousin not long after we were married. It was a wonderful wedding. Six months later we got a phone call to say that he had died in a car crash. He had been showing off to his brothers and new wife and misjudged a corner. They hit a bridge and he died instantly. Shock reverberated around the family for quite some time. It was a pointless, needless death. His parents never quite recovered from it.
I hope you and your family can be there for each other now. You will probably find that the reality of the situation hits you all at different times so you will need to support each other for quite some time. (((( hugs))))"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Good evening everyone,
Well, DS is VERY happy, after his team won just now, when Man U had gone 1 up, he had said he didnt want to go to school, as his friends would be laughing at him, so now he can go in with his head held high!!!! Boys and their football eh!!!
Having a lovely relaxing day, made a lovely roast, and have just made some delicious chewy bars that someone (sorry, cant remember who at the mo) posted yesterday, and they are delicious - only a few bits for me tho, they are full of butter and sugar and im trying to be good with my diet.
Have tidied upstairs and hoovered, and im going to hoover the stairs and the living room in a minute - then - a lovely relaxing bath and hair wash!!!!
Hope everyone has had a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Hello to everyone.
SnowyOwl Hope you feel better soon.
Ageandjo Sorry about your news yesterday.
AngelselondonTake no notice of that bloke.
Anniebooklover Lucky you! I saw those sets in Boots last week and wished I had someone with me, so I could drop some heavy hints. I couldn't really buy it for myself!
The kids have been hogging the computer all day, so I finally managed to get on here for a few minutes before bathtime.
Well after church this morning I made some lovely banana/choc muffins using a recipe from this site.:j
I've changed all of the beds, although eldest DD did her own as it is a cabin bed and a real pain to get up onto. She gets her pocket money in exchange for tidying her room and doing little jobs for me.
Lots to watch on the TV tonight, so I'll get stuck into my ironing whilst watching it.
Have a nice evening.0 -
Dinner just finished, the 'free' joint of beef we just had reminded me why I buy from the farm shop, best get the drill out to get the bits from in between my teeth. Chewy, fatty, yak!! Dogs will be happy as a lot was left, would have usually frozen it, but not this stuff.
Friend came over with the boys birthday presents, of course they decided to play up which ended up in nose bleed again from DS1 could have screamed by the time my friend left who I don't get to see often as it is! Bath time for them and I'll put the laundry away while they are getting settled for bed.One day I might be more organised...........
