    Morning everyone!
It looks like the trolls have spent the night in my house - I honestly don't know how it can be trashed so quickly!
Snowy (((HUGS))) haven't read a post from you in ages as I've not been able to keep up with the daily, but it's lovely to finally read one. Your flu sounds really bad hun, please take care of yourself and drink LOTS of water.
Ageandjo - as above haven't read a post from you in ages, and not sure what happened yesterday. Sending positive vibes to you hun x
BargainRZl - I'm moving to London!!!! (well I will if it means I can have the satisfaction of gettting some decent reductions :D - ours was piled high with reductions yesterday - an amazing 20 on sausages!! BUT it was 20p off a pack of finest, lol)
Penny Pincher - glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better hun. I really admire how you keep fighting and making the most of every good day. You're an inspiration hun.
Right, I'd best get my act together - I wantt to get down the allotments today and see if there's a spare plot. I also need to fly around this house and undo all the troll damage ;) On top of that I have 22 items ending on ebay today - fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.
Love and hugs to everyone (I did read the other posts, but I'm afraid this rubbish memory is only holding onto a limited amount of info at the moment!)

    Morning everyone

Happy Birthday Nikki and hugs Snowyowl and anyone else who needs them.

I have been rubbish at this, but today is my first day off for ages. Yesterday I was rehearsing then playing in a concert, so it was a late one. Now I've got loads of paperwork to do. We live in an old farmhouse and the previous owners converted the stable into a cottage which we rent out for holidays. It's hard work now as we're getting it going, but hopefully it will be worth it later ;)

Cottage cleaning, washing and the ironing pile beckon, but I can listen to the Archers whilst I iron or print out paperwork, so I don't feel remotely guilty. Then I'll cook them all a roast dinner to show what a good mummy I am really. I hope everyone has a good day!

    good morning everyone

Im definately having a midlife crisis! went to a 40th party last nite (made the effort to go out) but now I feel so down and depleated about my life!
Does anyone else feel the same? I suddenly start to feel that I want to do something completely different - just start thinking that Ive lived in the same house, same area for yonks! Ive lost contact with my old friends since getting re-married and I do miss the girlie contact - if it wasnt for you guys (my virtual friends!) on here I think I would feel quite isolated.

One couple are off to gambia for 8 months with their work - I just think how exciting to do something different!

Oh stop rambling on shez.....sorry guys for the Meaning of Life essay this morning! just wanted to get if off my chest - thanks for letting me.

back to things of the day........ Happy Birthday Nikki!

snowyowl - sorry to hear about yr flu - hope you get better soon xx

taplady - well done on the steps!

ageandjo - I havent read what has happened but sending ((hugs))
  • Good morning everyone, hugs to ageanjo, all the poorlies and everyone else in need of comfort

My it's cold up here today  and my first job will be to get a thick layer of ice off the car windscreen. I use a jug of hot water (from thermos kept by kettle) and a scraper - don't like using chemical sprays.

Have started tackling paper mountain! And will continue today. I've got my reward already - found an envelope with money in it - Christmas money I had put to one side - what a nice surprise!:j I'll resist temptation and use it as everyday money for the next two weeks instead of getting cashback with my shopping.

I'm going out this morning for a cup of tea with a friend. later on, paper mountain and laundry, plus I want to get a Hong Kong chest out of my bedroom - it's at the end of the bed and has become a hot spot - I reckon if it's not there I'll be less tempted to use it as a not-so-temporary resting space!:o

Food - soup and HM bread for lunch, and chicken, veg, and barley couscous for the evening meal. Have decided to take tomorrow off work - my line manager forgot I'm now part-time and has enlisted my help on Friday with interviews for someone to work the hours I've dropped. So I'll work Tues, Wed and Friday - plenty of recovery time built in!

have a good day everyone - keep warm and well wrapped up in the more Baltic areas.
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

  • Good Morning!

Thinking of you, ageandjo, I think most people would agree that your situation is one of our worst nightmares.

Not had a very good last couple of days. The roofing felt blew off the shed and the catch on the oven door has broke, which sounds pathetic, but these kind of things are what affects my OCD. Add that to the fact that I've got my CT scan tomorrow, which I absolutely hate, I'm not in a very good place right now. DH is being less than understanding - " Go and buy a new f***ing cooker then!". Sometimes, he can be really sweet, but more times than not, he just adds to my problems.

On a more positive note, I had a lovely day on Thursday with BIL & SIL. They ended up taking me out for lunch, which was fab.

Grannybroon - will reply to you today. Sorry not got around to it yet, but I haven't forgotten you.

Hope everybody has a good day.

    Morning Everyone

Back at work again. Not had a day off this week, as I had to cover a football game yesterday. At least it's some more overtime.

Was Mum's birthday, we didn't do anything but sis and BIL came over in the afternoon whilst I was out at work

Very cold here today, but don't think we'll get any snow. We had big hail stones last night though

    Happy Birthday Nikki

    Hope everyone's ok

Becarefull that it doesnt crack your windscreen!!! I used to work for a well known windscreen company and the amount of people who rang and said their w/screen had cracked because they used hot water to defrost it.

I went to bed at 1.20am (so much for an early night), then was still tossing turning till afer 2am. I woke up at 7.40,

Just done another batch of carrot cake, that will do for the pack up's this week.

Got all the clothes from yesterdays washing to sort out and put away, Im one of these who irons clothes as we need them. Its not for the fact I dont like ironing (far from it - Im the opposite - I love ironing) but whats the point in ironing to put away, and for them to get creased again!!!

Off to fetch OH's 2nd hand car in a while.
Then todays jobs will be, clean bathroom, sweep/mop kitchen & hall, hoover/dust front room, hoover stairs!
    Iron uniforms for work/school tomorrow

(((hugs))) to those who need them.
Take care and have a great Sunday
    Love as usual

    :bdaycake:Happy birthday Nikki :bdaycake:

First time for a while last night I put the light on to read, OH woke me coughing and I could not get back to sleep,I was cold as well, eventually put the light out after about and hour and a half so not too bad.

Spent yesterday in the back bedroom and I am destined for the same place today, its a shambles, lots of stuff to sort out and put away. I WILL NOT ALLOW IT TO GET LIKE THAT AGAIN!!!!! well for now anyway..... need to reorganise the shelves.........

Very cold here this moning, I can smell it, have not been out yet but OH has been in the garden drawing off some of the rain water so it does not overflow and freeze on the path if we get a frost. We draw the water into a bucket and use it to flush the loo...waste water no not me.

Regarding the leak that took them ages to repair, I wrote to the water company voicing my concerns about the way the repair had been done, in the first instance they said the 12 metere pipe wuld be replaced, but in the event only replaced a metre of it, the concern I had that the meter had not been installed correctly in the first place as there was a leak on the meter and also the difficulty we have with reading the meter, its 3' down a hole in the pavement and at 73 getting down on ones knees with a magnifying glass is no easy feat!!!!! This week we had a phone call from the water company saying that as I had rasied these concerns an inspector would call within 5 working days to see us........so we wait for his visit..........we are also waiting to see what allowence they make for the water that escaped they were wanting us to pay for.

Oh the sun is shining I wonder how long that will last, the clock on my computer has gone nuts, I keep putting it right but in the morning its nuts again....gggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr don't know whats wrong with the damn thing, very frustrating.

Nothing much doing except preparing supper and continuing my slog in the back bedroom......................

    :coffee:calling.................see ya'll later

PS RZL: re hotels in Paris go onto Hotel.com, thats where we book our hotels, we stayed in Mommartre the last time we went, but here are several hotels within walking distance of the gare du nord, also you can book a hotel in combination with your Eurostar tickets it can be cheaper........you need to do a search on both and then book the cheapest............I think we paid £34 per night.....for a double room, it had a double and a single bed in it, so guess it was a family room....
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

So i have set to in last hour since phone call calling it off, and have got wm on and only have a white wash to do after, made all the beds and tidy one of the boys rooms, washed breakfast pots cleaned kitchen and hoovered downstairs!! Pheww.:T

Chicken is in slow cooker and after my coffee off to prepare veg, need to nip to shop for juice and milk, then im done for the day!!:j

Dh got the dishwasher yesterday from lady on freecycle, but it isnt going to be as easy to fit where i wanted it!!Typical, we are going to have to chop a cupboard down and rejiggle things round, but dh said he will try and do it next weekend. Dh just will not sit still sometimes this does my head in, but he is about to go out in garden even though its raining and do something with some old bricks we have, im not even asking him, hes happy let him get on with it !!:D
