OS Sunday 21 Jan 07

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 21.1.07 (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread
after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everyone from a very very poorly me...for the third time in three months (or to put it another way, for the third time since starting my new job) I have the flu. And this is the mommy of all flus...my head is splitting, my chest is aching, I have a death rattle cough and there is something going wrong in my kidney area too. I have spent the last 18 hours or so in my bed whimpering like a puppy. I feel absolutely awful... I feel a little bit less pained sitting up so here I am...waiting for my Lepsip to cool down as it's making me retch hot.

OMG listen to that for a load of wallowing in self-pity...:o

AngeandJo...I read your post from yesterday..I am so sorry, how absolutely terrible for you. I am sorry if the above paras are insensitive, I know my problems are nothing compared to what your family is having to endure.

Bye all

SnowyOwl

PS: Happy birthday to Nicki...still a wee young lassie...

    Morning Snowy ,
You poor old thing you .You sound really cheesed off with the flu, it's rotten when you are feeling so rough.I have a bit of a throat starting and I'm just praying that it won't get any worse as I'm going to the theatre on Wednesday. It's part of my uni course and not really my cup of tea ,but hey, one has to do these things some times .
The weather is starting to get a bit colder here in North Kent and it's really feeling like winter now .My bones were giving me a bit of gyp, so hence the reason I'm online at this early hour . I had a letter from my sis-in-law who is away in Dubai with her family and she says it's a pleasant 75 + over there ! and she can't wait to come home as it doesn't feel right to be so warm in January !! she must be barmy .She flies home on the 3rd February I bet she cahnges her mind pretty quick. We are supposed to be getting some of the white stuff later on this week and I'm dreading that as I'm not very good on my pins with the slippery ice .I usually end up windmilling down my road with arms flailing trying to look as though I normally do this lol. My cousin in Canada sent me an attachment that I'm supposed to fix on the end of my stick. It's like a spike that gives a bit of grip in the snow ,but in my little corner of kent the snow doesn't usually get that deep and it looks a bit daft in an inch of snow .Ah well I think I'll nip ownstairs and make myself a cuppa.
<<<Hugs to all of those in need>>Hope your flu eases up a bit , keep taking the paracetamols two every four hours and lots of hot drinks . Good Morning to all who follow

Morning. Another early one for me. I just wish I could lie in sometimes. Anyway it looks to be another wet and blustery day. I am getting fed up with it.... Chruch first off, and then back for family lunch. I think that most of the afternoon will be spent listing stuff on e-bay. Then watch the NFL football tonight on SKY. That's what I want to do... What the family want or expect from me, is likely to be much different.
I watched the movie 'Kinky boots' last night, quite funny.
No work tomorrow which is nice, but I think I have to start thinking about redecorating my daughter's bedroom... :o hmmm I will OK once I get motivated........ Once I get motivated that is.

    Good morning everyone :hello:

(((hugs))) to everyone who needs one. Hope everyone who is feeling ill starts to get better soon. I didn't get to read the thread last night so I need to go back later on.

Didn't get anything at all at the charity shops yesterday. Today is going to be a real OS day - as long as I get myself motivated and don't sit here all day

I'll be putting the pheasant in the slow cooker shortly. Then it will be butter making and scones :D The washing machine needs to go on as well. I need to take down the clothes off the airer and get them ironed. We also need to get some more wine started.

Have a lovely OS day everyone

Hope you are feeling better soon SO and anyone else under the weather. I have to admit since we have been taking a winter break in Spain (cheapie) DH and I seem to have avoided colds/flue (touching wood). Maybe it is the sunshine boost.
You all sound far too energetic for me, I'm addicted to this box according to DH who isn't all into PC's.
Off to Nottingham today to see DS who is at uni there, and have lunch with him and GF.
I've been up since 6.15 am, DH needs far more sleep than I do, so left him snoring!
    Have a lovely Sunday.

    Morning all.

You all seem to have so much planned for the day, yet I can't seem to summons up the enthusiasm for anything at all this weekend!

I have a mountain of washing, ironing, and just general housework to do, but I have told myself I will tackle it all on Monday when everyone is out. The trouble is that in the meantime the house is like an absolute bomb site.

Perhaps I should at least go and shine my sink :o

Birthday wishes, get well wishes, and weight loss wishes to whoever needs whichever.

    Have a good day x
