I am really confused as the other page does not seem to be about high finance................I am confused
It is so cold and windy here today but still have not put the heating on. Luckily I have a bet with a friend every year to see who caves in first so that helps spur me on
Halloween decs are half up so will be busy putting the rest up this weekend. Will be having a Halloween party on the Sat and the clocks go back so will have an extra hour drinking :rotfl:

I'll follow this thread as well as the other one but I do find when I'm following a lot of threads I sometimes get muddled. Eg yesterday there was stuff on one of the threads I was looking at that I could have sworn was on the Preparing For Winter thread but in fact it was just people thinking along the same lines. So apologies in advance if I post something that belongs on another thread - if you see something totally disconnected from what went before just assume I meant to reply to a post on a different thread and am having a senior moment!!It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

ps I've looked out old leggings to use under my trousers instead of thermals then at least if I get knocked down I won't look like such an old lady
That's a good idea. I haven't worn leggings for years - I went through a few years of wearing nothing but leggings. I wish I could have seen myself from the back because I might not have bothered wearing them :rotfl:(they're really not a good look on most people unless you wear a top down to your knees :rotfl:) I was thinking of buying some thick tights for under jeans but they are horribly expensive :eek:0 -
Well, I am still here!!! Personally, I think there are several posters (not you lot!) who need to grow up and get a grip and stop behaving like petulant children. This is the internet for goodness sake.
I am currently readdressing my whole life and with that means thinning things out. So, this is the first week of not working the second job and has allowed me to go to the gym. I have scoliosis and with renovating the cottage and rushing about managed to put 2 stone on through not eating the right foods. As a result my back is giving me alot of grief. Because I dont have to fly out now at night to the pub it will give me time to cook properly and eat properly again. Although finances will be tight I hope I will be alot less stressed.
The woodburner is up and running now at nights and FK has taken up her position in front of it. I also have loads of runner beans and am going to make runner bean pickle at the weekend.0 -
Redlady, how do you manage to put more logs on the woodburner with FK in front? My picture of her is that she would not take kindly to attempts to persuade her to move out of the way:rotfl:It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Pinkwinged, Me too... This started as a regular toughie was not happy the newbies were cluttering the thread with chat, when the thread was there to discuss the economic climate - however as soon as all the newbies were promptly reprimanded and posted a different thread for the chat, they went right back to chatting about arthritic dogs and steamers.... (please, this is not a critisism at all for those people and is honestly just a general observation). So yes, there does seem to be two threads discussing the same sorts of things, but it was made clear initially that the thread wasnt for general chat about OS ways... *confused*
However what has come to light, that while some people are happy to get into the nitty gritty of the economy, others arent - so it has seemed sensible to have a thread about our own tough times, financial woes and old-style solutions without being scared senseless about what the news about the rate inflation will do to us.
Its not about the daily thread, it doesnt fit with the economic discussion of the Tough thread and its not about preparing for winter...so as a board guide, I sympathise with you and am sorry that anyone would fling that kind of accusation at you. I know your post wasnt posted as a board guide, but in your BG opinion - where do you think we fit, as some dont want the economic aspect of the Tough thread?Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying
You are supposed to be the leading lady of your own life, for God's sake! - The HolidayDFW  August 2013... Debt total £15,475.56 - Jan 15 £11,738.66 - DEBT FREE by 2015Feb GC £48.02/£250 (£201.98)I will declutter my house and debts

?
I don't think that was made clear Jo. I took the new thread started by MSE Andrea as a simple line drawn under yesterday's events. Nowhere did she say that the way we had been posting was wrong.
I too am confused though.Hope it gets sorted today as my head is spinning and I'm only supposed to on the computer doing accounts.
FWIW Pink-winged doesn't favour me in the real world so she certainly wouldn't on here.;):rotfl:When my children complained of being bored yesterday she kindly suggested to them that they might want to bake a cake. There then ensued 2 hours of wanton distruction of my kitchen. Cheers Sis.

Well, she lays out prone style in front of it. I have to roll her from one side to the other to get her out of the way. And if she is still in the way I get this look as though to say "I am NOT moving" and she really doesnt. I have opened the door virtually on top of her and she still wont shift.0
