In fairness - the "Its Tough" threads are also a place to discuss our own personal situations vis-a-vis the economic climate - in fact its the whole raison d'etre for it. The Its Tough thread is there as a support thread for us all in our current Tough Times.0

So we now have two thread discussing basically the same things just because people have been bickering?

Ceridwen, with all due respect, I tried that and joined the thread with that very intention... however it was quickly pointed out to me and all the other new joiners that our 'chat' was not welcome. In fact you in particular were very keen to point it out and I could quote several of your posts to that effect.
So I dont see why you feel the need to carry this discussion on to yet another thread.... we have deluttered your thread of our chat, which was your whole issue in the first place.
I am quite happy over here thank you, where I can chat about my business with EVERYONE who would like to contribute, including yourself, without fear of reprisal from long standing 'toughies', such as yourself who deemed our contributions to be off topic.
Currently over here, we are discussing the weather, thermals, farmers markets, card-tarting & oil-tarting and caravanning in Blairgowrie...nothing about the wider world of economics, but all the same if you have any input, anecdotes or advice, we are happy to hear them
Thanks for all the info - Ill have a forum search later, and speak to my mum and see if she knows where this Veg hut is!

I'm sorry you have misunderstood the position in that respect.
Anyway - you are quite welcome on the Its Tough thread.0 -
I give up - sorry, it was lovely to chat to most of you but it seems newbies cant win. We clutter the old thread with chat, but then are sad for having a seperate thread... It seems that although life is tough, these boards are even tougher. This is not a support system for me.

Jo, honey, please stay. It has been lovely to read your posts and we are all carrying on as normal on the thread started by MSEAndrea. As she has said all the MSE team ask is that we keep it friendly. If people don't like what we post, as long as we aren't being offensive or breaking any rules, they can't complain. If they do then it's best to use the ignore function if you prefer.
I would prefer to see everyone posting on the one thread though so a total line could be drawn under the unpleasantness of yesterday.0 -
oh heck I meant to solve a problem not create one!
I thought by breaking away form the 'Tough Label' we could properly draw a line under what could and couldn't be posted and any sense of ownership of the thread asnd its history. I don't want to cause division and friction.
Not sure what to do now....People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Really??? Your heartily applauding Squeaky's post on the old It's Tougher thread (post number 616) about keeping it "on topic" would actually suggest otherwise.

personally I have no wish to discuss my personal economic situation within all the doom and gloom that pervades your thread.
The sun is shining, yes its cold but it is after all October and a lovely day to tidy the garden for winter
ps I've looked out old leggings to use under my trousers instead of thermals then at least if I get knocked down I won't look like such an old lady0
