oh heck I meant to solve a problem not create one!

I thought by breaking away form the 'Tough Label' we could properly draw a line under what could and couldn't be posted and any sense of ownership of the thread asnd its history. I don't want to cause division and friction.

Not sure what to do now....

I think there is room for both threads - one for more serious discussion and one more lighthearted.

I, for one, had stopped reading the Tough thread as it was scaring me (not the people, the frightening reality that is (and no reason why not) discussed) - I am happier here!

Oh Rach you haven't caused a problem. :A I was just saying that I would like us all together cos I don't see why we should have a split thread when the concensus of opinion yesterday was that we liked the thread the way it was. I think there were very few posters who thought it was too chatty and MSE Andrea didn't seem to have a problem with the thread as it was as long as we were all friendly. :)
I have no problem with there being 2 threads if that's how folk want it. I will just have to spend longer on MSE reading all the posts :D but I am sorry that people feel unwelcome on the new thread because of comments made by a tiny majority. :( That is NOT what MSE or OS is all about.

I'm a fan of tights under trousers - as is my dd - she's been working the look all summer only to stop about 2 weeks ago!

Being a bear of little brain I am only able to think about one thing at a time and now holiday is over I'm on to DD's birthday - Disney 2 for 1 blu rays ordered on a grabbit offer, she wants a build a bear and I'm making a cinderella outfit as can't stand the nasty nylon ones in the shops - thinking I might make a matching dress for the bear too. A few books and some craft bits and that should do it I think - she'll be five and is having her first proper party too.

If other people are happy for a more lighthearted thread, then so be it.... So Moving on....

Its not me who actually uses a caravan in Blairgowrie.... but i do remember going there as a child to pick berries in the summer holidays for extra money :)

There is nothing left in my freezers... sent my sister away yesterday with the last of the frozen veg etc that I wont use before I leave to they now need to be defrosted and cleaned for the move.

Im a bit scared about leaving the doors open though, in case something crawls in there.... Ive seen some mammoth spiders in that garage...

Anyway - back to dismantling furniture for me.

I found a false widow spider on my french doors step about a week ago  They can pack a nasty bite - needless to say it is dead and I have left it there as a warning to others :rotfl:

I can recommend Raid Red spray - you spray it around boundaries, doorsteps, windows etc, anywhere they might get in and it kills them as they pick up the poison and die. I have done the whole downstairs and am finding the occasional corpse so its definately working - not seen any biggies since. Not living ones anyway :T

The sprays effects last about a month but i'll be taking no chances and will spray again in 3 weeks!!!

    Yoohoo Haribo :hello: :D

My heating is on, I'm freezing. I've just been to the shop in leggings, a jumper, a big snuggly cardi and boots. I thought I'd feel warm when I got back but I don't. I'm still wearing it all and the heating is staying on all day :D

Our guttering is falling down, we've saved the money (took us over a year!) to get it fixed/replaced but can't find anyone to do it ATM, everyone's busy. Either that or they don't want to touch it, it's the original stuff from when the house was built (1950) and there's plenty of asbestos up there.........

Our bedroom window is loose, every now and then we have to tighten up the screws that fix the frame into the wall, I'm sure one day I'm going to close the window and the whole thing will fall into the garden  Other windows are misting up. They all need replacing really. We had our front door replaced in January, the bloke who did it said he'd be happy to replace one window at a time - there's no way we can afford to get it all done at once.

We also have some repointing to do on the side of the house, though we can probably do that ourselves.

And I'm trying to save for a holiday in April (though in fairness, that's a want, not a need, so I could let that one go).

That's quite a list, so I have to really knuckle down. I've cut back a lot over the last few years, there's not a lot more I can trim. I'm looking for a Christmas job but there don't seem to be any about

My sales have picked up a little bit, but I can't rely on that, I need to know exactly what's coming in.

Oooh I've rambled :D Hope I haven't given the impression that we're really skint and can't afford to eat :o I just wanted to let you know my goals.

I think most people will know that you and the majority of posters don't want to cause friction. I have stayed away from the thread(s) for the past couple of days in the hope that everything would settle down. Unfortunately it hasn't.

I think that the best solution is that we all try to put the last day or so behind us and continue as one all inclusive thread. I believe that that could work for everyone...there have been many spats on the tougher threads in the past and no doubt there will be more. Usually everyone manages to bury the hatchet and get on with the support again eventually.

However I can see that some people don't want that, so I don't know how we go forward from here? I hate that the tougher thread has broken down into two camps. It's terribly sad really. :(

Under normal circumstances, as a bg I would automatically merge both threads together, and usually things would blow over sooner rather than later. However someone mentioned to me recently that (as my sister is a regular poster) my board guiding could be misconstrued as being biased. Nothing could be further from the truth. However because of that pm, I feel that my hands are tied and I feel that I have to leave this mess for MSE Andrea to sort out. I just hope it can be resolved amicably.

PS I am removing my signature from this post so that everyone can see that I am posting as a normal user and not as a board guide.

Oh PW -what a horrible accusation to have levied at you - and sorry to have caused more stress for you with this thread - that absolutely wasn't the intention :(

I am very sad that the thread has split in two :(, it seems such a shame as life on the other thread is pretty much as it was in the old 'tough' thread - i.e. quite positive and upbeat. The threads are as good or bad as the regular posters, as some have joined and others left, the new thread is a different beast to the one that went before I think.

It just seems daft to have two running pretty much the same as each other, and I guess not really what how they mods like the board to run. I hope someone can sort it !

Edit : RachC - not blaming you in any way for starting the new thread, it was such a mess yesterday, it was the sensible thing to do at the time!
