OK. I'm not sure what I have kicked off here, but I'm a little youngster on here. Be kind.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500

So, how does this on-thread party thing work then? despite being a long-time lurker on this thread I somehow managed to miss previous evenings of fun and frolics!
I'm sitting here with my glass of wine and not even wearing ANY knickers (TMI?!) cos OH is away*, so I am all up for some online company this evening...if you'll have me that is!
*not that me being knickerless has anything to do with OH being away...it is a long story involving a white wash0 -
So nothing new then regarding assumptions
and moving on and keeping on topic, when does the party start, hopefully after Corrie0 -
The jumble sale outing went well. I got a bright pink jumper that looks terrible on, but is so warm that I don't care, a monsoon winter dress in a purple and pink print, a peach/pink boden top, an M&S jacket/rain mac for DH and a very long grey coat with a fake fur collar and cuffs for me. Also 4 books and a coffee/tea set for a grand total of £16. Much cheaper than the charity shops around here and very good quality things. I think there might be another visit next week, although I could live without the 50 minute walk to get there.
Wow! well done on your haulI love a good rummage!
Do your local Jumble Sales have a clearance at the end - around here its 50p per binbag full - well worth it even if you mend/restyle the items:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

Can I offer a bottle of Baileys, and a glass of pear and ginger cider to the proceedings? Not together, of course! I am watching Africa United whilst sitting her

You are all very rude and I will be staying in this evening to read a book of sermons as befits a demure woman such as myself. I would not dream of joining in with such a riotous party. No, not me!

Seriously - I have a friend staying so can't be online, but enjoy your party and try not to disturb the neighbours! xxAspire not to have more but to be more.

Hi,
I've "been" to one of these before, you virtually bring a bottle and some twiglets or whatever you fancy, offer to get a drink for others. Generally chat to whoever turns up.
If nothing interesting is happening in the living room, you see if anything is happening in the kitchen
I sometimes do a white wash, then again sometimes I'm a rebel and just throw everything in at once. :rotfl:0 -
Ha do you know that old Churchill quote about "Madam we've established what you, are we are just haggling over the price" ?
Book People have just sent me a 10% off if you order before tomorrow night code (SPOOKY10) so as it's going to take a fiver off my booker/orange prize collections, AND DD no2's Birthday Pressies I'm going to cave in and add to basket. I'll also get a free desk diary I can either use as a pressie or use for the B&B bookings next year and I have enough points for a free book - so will order the slow cooker curry one
Spent the day doing chores, not been about much this week and DS and OH (and the dogs) had trashed the place. Caught up with the washing, did a supermarket run, paid a bill for OH having first established that the cheque they paid him didn't bounce (I never ignore these intuitions LOL) and caught uo with my two neighbours/girlfriends in the village for tea and gossip.
Tea tonight is shepherds pie made with whoopsied mince and a combo of swede and potato for the mash on top, as I couldn't remember if I needed spuds in the supermarket! I guess I do!

Well, I can offer a very yummy bottle of merlot and some apple and raspberry crumble tray bake (no, really, it goes well together!)
