I'm not sure what I missed earlier *shrug* but when I started reading this thread, people made a point of saying that nothing would be off topic. I felt I would fit in well with some waffling
and would be able to learn some OS skills along the way.

It helps when you think gosh I ain't the only oneI think the chit chat helps us all and I for one can waffle for England
Totally agree with Kaz and PIC - I'm new to OS:o but learning loads here:).
The daily threads are great, however, for me, I'm afraid they just don't work as I sometimes have to miss a few days if I'm unwell and I find I just can't catch up with what's been missed and end up missing out on great tips (as well as news) but on an "all in one" thread, it's just a lot easier.

RFTA - Look at it this way - your one many well go ping as some point and you will need a new one. If you buy a replacement now you will only have to pay £17.99 for it. If you wait until you need a new one they are likey to be more expensive, and you might not have the money. And if you can't keep yer mitts of it, put the old one away to bring out when this one eventually pops it! That's how I would convince myself anyway!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0

Just wanted to say ... thanks for all the recipes (for everything, not just the beef).:D
I've started a Word doc and am copying them all into there - that way (hopefully), it'll be easy to use the search facility on a certain ingredient I need to use up /cook with .... fingers crossed!:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Arrrrrgggggghhhhhh:rotfl:don't tempt me!:D
D&DD ((((hugs)))) it really annoys me how some people "play the system" and will be off at pretty much set times/intervals to stay "within acceptable limits" and nothing ever happens to them:mad: and then you get others (like your DH) who can have no/very few absences over many years and then have a geniune "run" of absences which totally screws things up. Hope something can be worked out.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

D&DD - had a read through that link, and tbh it is very much like CS absence policy - but if the absences are as you say, I think they are being very harsh, and applying the letter of the law - is OH in a union? If so he should be represented. I know a lot of employers that need to reduce staff are now coming down really hard on employees with otherwise good work records, which I think is terribly unfair.
RFTA - google 'big oven' and download it - it's a great database for recipes, and dead easy to drop a copied recipe into it. Someone on the old T thread recommended it (sorry, can't remember who, but thanks!!!), and I have loads of my copied recipes in it now.Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
