Congratulations again FTM.
I seem to have missed something, though I don't know what. Don't be chased away though.
The first post of yours I remember, you had made a cake for toddler group and it was returned because they said they didn't have home made, only shop bought. You have stuck in my mind ever since then.

Congratulations flower tot GRAN!!
What a strange day i am having sorting out financial stuff - and how dull but necessary all that is.
At least OH and i got to picnic on a park bench like retired people :rotfl:- still have to make the most of this glorious weather.
DS football school has put paid to any outing we might have had this afternoon but we may take DD to the flicks later and maybe tea out - we'll see. DS is off to a pals for a sleepover.
WHilst in town we popped into our local cheese shop - what a paradise it is. We have treated ourselves to a wedge of "Stinky A'porth" :rotfl: Bought more than a "h'aporth" thI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Thanks for all the useful tips to allow me to use my cracked slow cooker. Really don't want to buy a new on as my dh swears he can tell when I have used it an hates the taste!
My remoska is great for joints of beef, braised in a dark ale with onions, mushrooms, garlic, thyme and a little pinch of sugar to balance the flavor. It sort of slow cooks and roasts it at the same time and if you add fondant potatoes toward the end of cooking it's almost one pot.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z Able Archer0 -
Afternoon all.
I've been lurking rather than posting recently as I've had a rather un-OS few days: I've bought lunch three days in a row this week as I haven't been organised enough to bring a packed lunch to work.
I'm hoping to get back to OS ways this weekend - amongst other things I want to try out the nice new roasting dish I bought at lunchtime, to replace my old one which is starting to lose its non-stick coating (which doesn't taste very nice, BTW). My new one is a cheap Le Creseut (sp?) rip off - it looks quite convincing from a distance but is a) a fraction of the price and b) unlike the real thing, something I can pick up without hiring pneumatic lifting gear.
flowertotmum - many congrats to you and yours!
VJsmum - that's a truly great name for a cheese. It's not one I've ever come across before - is the name accurate?Back after a very long break!0 -
Saw a large slow cooker in Te$co this week, only £9 and looked OK.
It was really foggy here this morning and I had loads of washing to do, including bed linen....so I used the tumble drier.
Oh the shame of it.....now I can find a hair shirt, but does anyone know where to get a cat 'o nine tails for scourging?Normal people worry me.0 -
Did someone say "party"? I'm in! Congrats to you FlowerTotMum!
I missed the last party by dint of not delurking quickly enough... I checked the thread in the morning and found out you'd all spent the night three sheets to the wind, snogging aliens and flinging your knickers around!
I'm not missing this one *camps in the thread* now let me see what I have to offer... I don't really drink as I feel ill straight away with wine, but a nice cold lager and a whiff of brandy and I'll be flinging my knickers like a good'un.
Oh and I've got crisps and nibbles... when are we starting?I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
