Been inspired by all you on here & have been batch cooking for my freezer this week.
Been using the slow cooker so have been starting it after I've had breakfast then been freezing it down, after it has cooled, when I go to bed.
Thought it would be a good idea to make my own ready meals for winter so today I made 6 portions of chilli con carne, yesterday it was 4 portions of chicken curry and on Tuesday it was 4 portions of beef casserole.
Have some frozen diced venison from Lidl in the freezer that I bought earlier this year so next week I'll be converting that to a nice casserole.
It's been nearly a year since I used the slow cooker as after I had my hand op in January I didn't dare lift its bowl in case I dropped it.
I had the car serviced today ready for the winter and yesterday I stocked up on screen wash & de-icer just in case the bad weather comes when I least expect it. Unfortunately nearly half the service bill was for the plugs as it seems my car has very expensive ones which are more each than a set is for most cars. I only have a little car, nothing fancy so you wonder what got into the manufacturers mind when they decided to use these in their design.
Never mind. I now have peace of mind to go out in any dodgy weather.
Enjoy your party later.0 -
I haven't got a tumble dryer but I've just thrown out some bananas because I can't be a*sed to make something with them. I'll just bend over that chair shall I?
:D
Edit: the bananas ARE very nasty because I put them on top of the fridge and forgot them. And they're in the compost, not the regular bin... whew, glad I cleared that one up before Hester got her bullwhip arm warmed up!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Don't know why you are all bothering to change your drawers for the party. Be really MS and don't bother - for how long you will be keeping them on you might as well save the washing. :rotfl:0

RFTA - google 'big oven' and download it - it's a great database for recipes, and dead easy to drop a copied recipe into it. Someone on the old T thread recommended it (sorry, can't remember who, but thanks!!!), and I have loads of my copied recipes in it now.
I know this was posted for someone else but I'm stealing it and I think I love you. Can't have a good look tonight as off to w*rk in a minute
but will have a look tomorrow
. Have ordered both the takeaway secret and the curry secret for DH's Christmas presents today. Looking forwards to lots of yummy yummy food coming up in January
which I don't have to cook
D&DD, I think they have been overly harsh on your DH and think that they might just have been a bit too erm.... Bull in a china shop? with him. Might it be worth contacting ACAS about this?
What are the jobs like around you? Is there any chance that he might find something else easily thus making it not worth the bother or is he going to struggle? I can't see how someone having time off for 2 operations and then a sickness can be viewed as bad when he has a good work attendance record otherwise? I agree. I just can't believe they can get away with treating someone like that. I really hope you get things sorted, D&DD.
I've just done an AF order (:o) so I've now got Twiglets and Mini Cheddars for the party - if you don't mind waiting until they're delivered next week, that is. Hmm, possibly not a lot of use after all!Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening everyone
Hester what a great toy collection you have
jpscloud no bending over before safe words, limits and a suitable punishment is established lol
Well I've put on my orange and pink swirly patterned knickers and tried to work out what to put in the party bags. Somehow a slice of cake and a balloon just doesn't seem right.
I have a huge tuna pasta bake in the oven if anyone wants some of that to line their stomachs before the drinking starts.0 -
Nope its the Royal Mail
http://cwule.org/attend.aspx
Its an attendance issue unfortunately..although a postman with cataracts is not a great idea!
He had one absence last year while he had two ops for them then one absence at xmas for laser surgery as they'd left bits behind..then this one he was off for 10 days and he was genuinely ill.
In the 20 odd years we've been married somethings only put him in bed twice and this was one of those
One of my best friends hubby works for the RM and has done for years, they really are a law unto themselves. I still think you can dispute it. I know three people who have gone through different things lately and have got their jobs back on appeal. Looking into different situations you do not seem to have many rights until you go to appeal. I think employers are pushing their luck at the moment with everyone desperate for a job.
Do go on the employment board as they were really helpful on there.
I think we should all glue are letter boxes down and gang up on the RM in protest............... oh dear no bills to come through the letterbox either :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
I have a horsehair flogger, a fur covered crop, a rubber thonged flogger and a big multilayer leather strap........which one would you like Hobsons Choice? I wouldn't personally say that using the tumble drier warrants using the strap, but each to their own
;)
D&DD ((((hugs)))) that must be very worrying for you all. Hope it works out OK..as someone says, try ACAS.Normal people worry me.0 -
For Goodness sake, get a grip! And newbie, stop trying to stir the pot and go and get a life. The post is way too obvious to be who everyone thinks it is.
Something has obviously been going on today on this thread - and I dont know what it is. It looks like some new/"new" member of the Forum has made some post that has been taken exception to - and there is some "blame" being attached here to an existing poster.
personally - I havent the foggiest what anyone is on about here and what on earth has happened re FlowerTotMum's announcements.
Fed-up now that it would appear - from what I can see - that some pretty darn unfair assumptions have been made by the look of it...0
