Mardatha, If it is silvery, lilac highlights will be fab and very easy to keep up. I have had blond highlights since I was 15 how boring is that? Too scared for another colour.Am aiming for Joanna Lumley in years to come but probably the hair will be Lily Savage!

Well I am off for a hair restyle at a very chic salon today as part of my new "life's too short" philosophy. Didn't ask what it's going to cost so lets hope it's so wonderful I don't faint at the till or show myself up by going "HOW MUCH" :o

Maryb, thats me. My hair is almost black and the front is almost white , the rest is a horrible mix of the two. Is impossible to keep dying it when its like that as the dark roots show if you lighten it and the light roots show when you darken it!!

SDG3100 congrats on getting the money back. You lent it with the best of intensions and t is a shame you had to deal with all of that worry once you were told what the lady was like.

Flowertot mum congratulations to you and your daughter.

Mardatha I think something fetching in two tone just to se RV's reaction.

Oldtractor I am glad that you have been able to take stock of things and plan more time for you in your busy schedule. We are great at taking on more and more and don't seem to realise the effects that this is having on us both physically and mentally. Look after yourself.

The meal with our recently departed friends husband and daughter went well last night. I am glad I went for the roast dinner, as I was right with my assumption that they would not have had many meals with veg lately.

DDs are out with their grannies for the day today so I am hoping that OH will start to decorate the bathroom. We did clear the bedroom furniture out of the spare room yesterday to convert it into an office, which will give me my dining room back :T. The only thing left to move into there today is the computer plus computer desk. As OH is doing this I might be missing in action for a while as he can often make a meal out of things.

Hope you all have a good day.

I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

ahh I'm so cross with hubby - I walked dd up to holiday club today and asked him to put my bag in the car. He then drove up to get me from school after dropping dd. Got to work - no bag - no phone, no diary, no purse, no work swipe card, no elctronic taggy thing to let me get onto secure system, no lunch. His punishment is to pay for us to go out for lunch but I can't get any PC work done and can't remember the address for my home visit later. Grrr.

One of my indulgences is to get the hairdresser to dye it. I am trying to use Groupon offers tho - the latest one is £25 for colour cut and finish - less than i'd normally pay for the cut and finish. My hair is thick and naturally curly - went curly after i had the kids:eek: and so is quite difficult for me to manage.

Well an investment opportunity that we are about to exploit means that we are going to be quite cash poor for a little while, but we are investing in the future and getting the money out the bank so Europe don't have it. So those pennies need stretching a bit for a while. I can definitely trim the food budget, any treats will have to be tesco vouchers.

I'm struggling with not having the heating on. Was trying to hold on to November, but have been quite freezing in the evenings - now OH is back for a few days I think he will succumb and put it on.

    Hi folks ,

Hope you're all doing ok. I'm not at all up to date with your going ons as I've been busy with other stuff and not had time to read. I have so many pages to catch up, 'twill take me weeks by the looks of things!
Where has the other Tough thread gone? I've had all these threads open in tabs in my browser and get a message saying that one doesn't exist.

We had bad flooding here near where I live but thankfully my place was ok and the leaking roof didn't get too much worse. It's now mended and I am feeling very poor after writing that cheque. And I have the heating on cos it's been so cold and damp - I feel better for it but I am worried about what the bill will be like as normally I wouldn't have it on this early in the year. *sigh* ah well, at least I have plenty of food in so I won't starve if there is no money left in the kitty. Apart from fresh stuff I reckon I have enough food to get me through to after Christmas.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my breadmaker question on the other thread (not sure if everyone has been moved over here?) - am very tempted to get one if I ever have a few quid to spare again. Would be great for winter as I could stock up on flour and yeast and it'd be one less thing to have to go out to the shops for.

Will sign off for now - today is polling day and I've got to go vote in a new President.

Have a great day everyone - sending hugs to anyone who'd like one! :)
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Hi everyone, as part of my be-kind-to-me-and-dont-feel-guilty new life I've been out and bought a magazine. This is quite a big thing for me. Yippeee.:j
HAIR, mine was black, jet black with a few red hairs, its now 50/50 silver and black. I love it,gave up dying it years ago. The worst bit for me was when it was grey/silver at the front and mostly black elsewhere, now its more mixed I prefer it. I have even grown it long and wear it in a pony tail or a granny's bun.

I do feel better now reading that others have two tone hair. Why can't I be liek the RV though - who seemed to go from sleek shiny jet black to fine gorgeous spun-silver OVERNIGHT! (or it seemed like that! ) But he's got pernicious anaemia and that does that to hair..
