SGD So glad you got your money back :T
and a suggestion to those who 'suffer' with aches and pains. I've been taking Dicloflex for some time, I've had lower back problems, sciatica episodes and hip pain and if I attempt to stop taking it after about three days I simply can't move....I've been very very busy this summer, and much more active than I had been and I was in a lot of pain, especially at night, and very stiff getting going of a morning, and I was toying with the idea of asking the GP to up the dose, but for some reason I forgot to take it during the day and had it at night a few days running instead, and I noticed that I was SO MUCH better....it lessened the pain at night, and of course resting all night and not being on the go, everything seemed to have settled down by morning, and I'm much more movable during the day! Definitely worth trying I think if you have similar issues. When I go back to the Dr next time I shall tell her my discovery!!
Did a mercy dash for a friend tonight, she was discharged late from hospital, and too late for transport. Her partner doesn't drive, I was happy to help obviously, but she told me on the way home that the last time she had to get a taxi home from the hospital it cost nearly £100!!!! Good GRIEF!!! I know the taxi company has to make a profit, but either local to the hospital to here, or from here to the hospital and back is a max of 2 hours, and a tenners worth of petrol,
Wish I got £45 an hour!!!!

katieowl - I agree re the time to take various pills, etc. I'm on a lifelong med that I take between 7pm & 8pm - ie a bit after my evening meal. So when I needed another med for a different condition I just took it at the same time. After a couple of weeks, back at the doctors, he asked when I was taking med number 2 and advised changing it to the morning - result = much better effect. But why was the timing not mentioned in the original visit or on the label?"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0

For the draughty keyhole I sellotaped a square of bubble wrap over it in a sort of flap to keep the blowy out.
I did the same with the letterbox too. We had one of those brush affairs on the letterbox, but removed it because the postie used to leave the letters half in and half out when we had it on, not too good.0 -
What colours could aI go next?? Not blue thankyou, the edna everage look is SO not me! Purple if the RV would let me. Pink is a possibility. What else is there? I would LOVE to go back to black but the RV would seriously seriously kill me after the money I've spent trying to get rid of it !
I have tried many different colours in the past few years. Unfortunately at Christmas I went grey overnight (it does happen) as i was very ill. It literally showed through my roots as my husband sat beside me. Anyway since then I have had to go with a lighter base colour closer to my grey colour with some brightly coloured highlights (currently bronze and red). That way when the roots start to show they are not blatantly obvious.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

That's because we patients are expected to be psychic, katie.:) I'm on a lifelong med which is keeping me alive and the instructions on and in the packet say morning, lunchtime and evening. After a couple of years my consultant revealed that the third dose should be at 4 pm and this is very important as the meds are replicating a natural bodily cycle.
 Yeah, so a lay-person is going to read "evening" and think "4 pm"?! I coulda smacked someone. Explained why I was insomniac when I took them at about 6 pm!
SDG thrilled that you got your money back.
oldtractor Good to see you back with us, hun, and take it easier, we're none of us Wonderwoman- that's Lynda Carter- and we need to chill as well as do all the other stuff.
Well, back at the grindstone yesterday and it was good to see the colleagues and catch up with the gossip. New Fingy hasn't imploded in my absence and I haven't lost my telephone mojo even if I felt a bit rusty for the first few minutes. Good job I hang out on here as it keeps my keyboard skills up to speed.:rotfl:Plus you're all good company even if you do drink too much.:p
Mardatha, what about green? I had green hair once, it was a blast. Of course, I was a student and such stuff goes with the territory. I'm letting my hair turn white and seeing how it goes. I may leave it white once it's done or I may regard it as a blank palette for all kinds of colourific madness......shall I revert to pink and black, as I once had it? G'wan, I dare ya!
Well, suppose I need to wander off around the rest of the web and see what is happening in the big bad world.

I've just finished growing out the last of the dye from a year ago when I thought I might try colouring my hair having let it go grey in my 40s. I didn't have much choice about going grey because my natural colour is black and the back half of my head stayed black while the front was almost white. So I couldn't go light brown on the white bits because of the back and I couldn't go dark because of the roots. And it actually looked quite dramatic.
But now that the black bit has dwindled I thought I might try going mid brown. I absolutely hated it. I'm going to stick with grey and try and cultivate a chic intellectual look. Yeah, right. (One of the big advantages of a Kindle is that no-one can see what you are actually reading!!)It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0
