Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
That really is fantastic news, SDG. :) Enjoy your drink tonight - it sounds like you deserve it.

I had a rather nice experience at lunchtime: I got to the little independent sandwich shop I like to use and suddenly remembered I had no cash on me, and the shop doesn't take cards. :( The owner glanced out of the window and announced that he couldn't bear to send me to the cash point in such heavy rain and I could pay him tomorrow instead. What an angel! :A

So glad you got your money back SG, you know I thought you had seen the back of it, I am glad to be proved wrong!

Back pain - used to get awful lower back pain every month, and lived on ibuprofen. It is far better to take painkilers before you think you need them (I could tell as it started with a dull ache, cue the tablets), once the pain has kicked off you need far more of the drug to get rid of it. And heat - hottlebottles and/or wheat pillows - took them to work and everywhere I went when I needed to. Also try a TENS machine, good when you need to be out and about as they are small.

I tend to forget how debilitated I was prior to having my op, really spent 3 weeks out of 4 in agony, so thankful all that has gone for good.

    Congrats FTM!

Am assuming that will be an alluring shade of purple, Mardatha?

If you are getting it dyed at Jenners make sure they know what colour you are after - I've seen a lot of blue and pink rinses leaving there:D

SDG - That's great news. Really restores your faith in others.

I'm glad there is still an OS support thread and have read all the posts so far on this one over the last 2 days. Unfortunately that meant I missed the party :(

Thanks to a tip from Mrs Chip I picked up lots of leeks and a big pack of spuds today from Aldi. The leeks were the trimmed sort, 69p for 500g compared to Mr T's current price of £2 for the same thing/amount :T. I got 3 packs and will clean and chop 2 packs for the freezer and make leek and potato soup with the other pack. The potatoes were good value too - 7 in a pack, only one of which was my normal size baked potato, the rest nearly 2 times that size. 2.5kg for 69p. I've been eating my soups from the freezer recently so it will be good to restock.

But an even better bargain was the purchase of 3 new pairs of shoes. In a CS but new with labels, etc. Just the sort of smart casual styles I like, a slightly wide fitting, which I need and a grand total of £11-50. One pair is by Hotter and they sell for over £50 on the website. As I was paying I mentioned to the assistant that that was my shoe buying done for a year - from the look on her face I don't think she believed me!

SDG - well done for chasing up your money and getting it back - I pity the poor husband though :(
