Cranky - our two boys mum used to sit in the tree and sleep very delicately and ladylike, but then she had the kittens (5 of them) and encouraged them to join her, the elder two cats at that point decided to join in and they were anything but delicate and ladylike and that began our yearly tradition of strapping the tree to the wall by several ropes in order to keep it upright. Takes a little getting used to but as my dad says it works on ships!!:rotfl:

Strangely our rabbit hates the outdoors and has hayfever but the minute the tree arrives she plonks herself underneath and wont budge. Christmas trees obviously hold a special place in pets minds.

One trick I have learnt is that you can buy very thin wire (fuse wire) and tie the ornaments to the tree, the wire is thin enough not to be visible and it usually keeps most of the ornaments on. I say most as we have one decoration that one cat loved and nothing could keep it on the tree as she used to sit and spend hours taking it off.

Our cats love the tree - they hide behind it and bat at the decorations for a day or two then give up. However they insist on drinking the water out of the bucket we stand the tree in :rotfl:

Not much OS-ing going on here this weekend as we have had some bad news about our beloved dog - our old soldier has finally reached his last days. We intend giving him the best weekend we can before saying goodbye early next week. I suspect we will also be drowning our sorrows a little too.

Ahhh Bobbykins ... (((hugs))) so, so sorry to hear this, lots of extra special cuddles this weekend.

I lost my old lad very suddenly last week so know how hard it is ..... I know this won't help at all but be thankful of the time to say your goodbyes.

As some of you may know I have been looking into ethically sourced meat. Said meat turned up at work today and after a trip to the gym I have just emptied the box. Surrounding the meat was the most packaging I have ever seen in the form of shredded paper. So, picture the scene....

Box full of shredded paper in the front room. FK ha seen the box and is curious. She stands on her back legs to have a look in - and then jumps!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Oh it was soooo funny. She thought it was solid but obviously it wasnt and just descended to the bottom of the box. Boy did she move! :D

Ref the meat, there isn't much there for 70 quid so it had better be bloody good!
  • SDG - great news. It's nice to "know" someone who has had some luck.

FTM - Congratulations on your news.

Bobbykins - I really feel for you. I lost my little Jack Russell almost 9 years ago and have never felt ready for another. Make the most of your weekend.

Have I turned into a fortune teller or is it the shape of things to come????

I think I need more than 3 hours sleep its driving me crazy :rotfl:
