:rotfl: Mice Pies. I might have to call them that from now on!
Kate
That reminds me of adverts for a Christmas party for international students that were put up where I work a couple of years ago, which included a reference to 'mice pies'. A sticker had to be added to each poster assuring everyone that British people aren't in the habit of eating mice as part of their Christmas celebrations! :rotfl:Back after a very long break!0 -
Wow congrats FTM - there must be something in the water in your part of the world.
There are flies in my kitchen, not a fly - FLIES!!! In November! I won't stand for it, i tell you ("so sit down then" as my dad would say!) and i'm eating soup, but luckily there are no flies in that!
I am looking for something exciting to do with sprouts - i have a surfeit (do i mean surfeit? Lots anyway). Not madly keen on them at the best of times but thought i could try something interesting - did i read somewhere that you could chop them up and fry them with "stuff".
I had another voucher for £9 off a £70 shop at Mr S - so I felt i could treat us to an M&S £10 meal deal (I know, go figure:p). I actually think they are quite a good buy really - the wine alone was £7, bought 2 chicken breasts in "stuff", a pack of 4 rosti and an eve's pudding. If i add some kievs for the kids and a bit of veg it makes a pretty good meal for 4 for just over a tenner - inc. wine (and the kievs were whoopsied down to 79p). Am quite proud cos kept the Mr S shopping to just over the £70 - tho actually spent more as i got some christmas gifts in the 3 for 2. Then got £4.70 off petrol with a 10p off a litre voucher.
Then got home to find a letter from school to say DS got top mark in his group for a science assessment and has already exceeded his end of year target.
So quite a good day all in all - so far.
Just got to put the pesky shopping away - why won't it do it itself?:DI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Shahi Jeera is black cumin seeds which have, till recently, been fairly difficult to get but, as it says, they aren't essential.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

black cumin also labelled as kolonji (Barts brand) or Nigella seeds - you might get them under any of those names . MMM sprout bahji
PS _ congrats FTM - these things certainly seem come in 3s!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

FTM - starting a creche eh? Congratulations :T
Frugal - I second using Vitamin D in winter. I'm using it as one of a number of things to keep me going.
katieowl - the mice pies reminded me of how a changed letter changed something a colleague once wrote. He was worried about the effect on staff of some proposed changes and wrote to management about it. Unfortunately he wrote "changes will cause low morals in staff" instead of "changes will cause low morale" He never heard the end of it, poor chap.
Yellow ball here today but breezy so feels cold. Garden is at last drying out and I'll be working outside this afternoon - when are the grass/weeds going to stop growing?"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
Has everyone seen Martin's post asking for volunteers for showing OS on daybreak next week? Maybe GQ could show off her tomato stash0
-
Wow FTM - that's great news. Baby and grandbabies all at the same time, goodness your life is going to be even busier.:rotfl::rotfl:.
Not much OS-ing going on here this weekend as we have had some bad news about our beloved dog - our old soldier has finally reached his last days. We intend giving him the best weekend we can before saying goodbye early next week. I suspect we will also be drowning our sorrows a little too.
May not post for a while but we shall see.0 -

bobbykins. Enjoy it. It was the best thing we ever did with the OBB was spend those last few days with him. FK still looks for him when she goes to visit and refused to get on the couch where he used to sleep for ages.
Thinking of you x0
