If their cabin baggage is 5cms smaller than others, does it really matter?

Only to those people who believe that rules don't apply to them and then rant because they've been stopped. ;)

And only to people who have invested in a proper sized cabin bag, only to be turned away by Ryanair as its too big.

You mean the ones who don't read.

    The Website
    The T&C
    Their booking
The various emails they are sent
    Their boarding cards

and that's before they get to the airport

No. I mean people who fly with the other 200 or so airlines in the world and buy a carry-on bag that fits with the IATA guidelines

    http://www.iata.org/whatwedo/passenger/passenger_baggage/Pages/check_bag.aspx

only to find that Ryanair want to nickel and dime passengers for oversized carryons.

Have you actually found a good reason by Ryanair have a smaller width ie 20cms? Bags still take up the same amount of footpring in the luggage racks. Luggage racks arent noticibly smaller than anyone elses.

But it isn't a 'proper' sized cabin bag according to Ryanair, is it?

    It's too big!

It may be fine for almost all other carriers but if you're flying with Ryanair you play by their rules (or pay for your mistake).

You seem to be expecting Ryanair to comply with the rest of the airline industry.
Why should they - just so you can take your 'investment' on a Ryanair flight?

If you don't like the company and their policies, just choose an alternative carrier.

Froggitt i wouldnt bother arguing the toss with this lot their thinking is one dimensional so no room to see anyone elses point of view but their own.

Just who are you including in "this lot"?

Do you mean those people who base their opinions about Ryanair on their own personal experiences and who read T&Cs before booking or those people who take other people's opinions on Ryanair that they've found on the internet?

Basically RUINAIR are out to shaft their passengers for as much as they can squeeze out of them.Be warned, they have the worst name in aviation, you only have to look on the net under Ryanair complaints to see what passengers think of them.

Sadly your positive experience with them is a rarity going by all the negative comments found on the net.

    Be realistic.
Googling for 'Ryanair complaints' is hardly likely to result in an impartial viewpoint, is it?

And this thread is about Ryanair hand luggage - the website is very clear on maximum dimensions.
Anybody who disregards that information risks being charged.

Just who are you talking to.If the shoe fits wear it.My viewpoint of RUINAIR is based on MY OWN EXPERIENCE.Read my first post,i found the Ruinair complaints AFTER i had experienced RUINAIRS shoddy treatment and am FULLY within my rights to warn others and give them the source of this info so as they can decide whether to fly with this dubious company or not.

    Calm down dear

Ah, this is about you not reading what's on the screen when you booked,

What photo ID exactly did you put in the passport number box and what date in
the passport expiry date box, was it off her bus pass?

I guess this means you have never actually flown with Ryanair then.
