So, got my peanut butter and banana toasted sesame bagel, and my freshly squeezed orange juice in a white paper bag, and wandered down to the gate.
"Can you put that in the bag in the sizer please?" she said.
"Huh? Me?"
"Yes. Youve got to put the white bag in your carry on bag, and in the sizer please" she said.
"But its a bagel and an orange juice bought in the lounge"
"I dont make the rules" she said.
Stupid stupid stupid cow. Put the bagel in the case and she let me through. As soon as through gate, took bagel out of case again, into white paper bag.
Does a box of chocolates bought in the duty free count as your carry on luggage on Ryanair?
Yep............0 -
What about bagels then?illegitimi non carborundum0

In the old check-in at the desk days I often used to travel with no luggage at all as indeed I often do today.
The conversation used to go something like this.
Did you pack your luggage yourself? "I have none"
Could anyone have interfered with your luggage? "I just told you I have none"
If you don't answer the questions you will be refused boarding.
"I still don't have any luggage" at which point they gave up!0 -
Some time ago I flew to the USA intending to pick up my return ticket in LA.Bob_the_Saver wrote: »In the old check-in at the desk days I often used to travel with no luggage at all as indeed I often do today.

"cant fly without a return ticket" she said. "youll need to buy a single back now, and get it refunded when you get there"
"must I?"
"yup" she said and got onto the computer. "when would you like to fly back" she asked. "whenever" I said.
"aisle or window seat" she asked. "i dont care. im not flying on it" I said.
"one bag or two" she asked. "you choose. im not actually flying on it as you know"
"fine" she said.
"could i have a vegetarian meal please" i asked
"veg e tar ian meal" she tapped away. Then she stopped "how come you want a vegetarian meal if your not flying"
"EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!"illegitimi non carborundum0 -
She's right, she doesn't make the rules.
"I dont make the rules" she said.
Were you looking in the mirror when you said this?
Stupid stupid stupid cow.
Life would be so much easier for you if you read (and tried to understand) the rules of different airlines when you're planning a flight.0 -
Since when does stuff (eg bagel, orange juice, chocolates, vodka)bought in the departure lounge count as carry on baggage? The whole duty free industry would collapse in a heap if this was the rule.
In fact at a number of airports, they kindly deliver the duty free to the plane for you.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
Passengers are welcome to bring their own food onboard, however, in the interest
of safety passengers must not carry hot drinks onboard.
Is bagel and orange juice cabin baggage? What if I promise to eat/drink them before it takes off? What if I put it in my carry on to go thru the gate, but take it out after the gate, maybe for a bite or a drink, or maybe to stop it spilling over the laptop? Are they going to stop everyone with a carry on and a Starbucks in their hand? Or is in the hand OK and its only when it goes into a paper bag that its against the rules? What if I wear my bagel and orange juice in each of my jacket pockets?Strictly one item of cabin baggage per passengerillegitimi non carborundum0 -

Since Ryanair decided that it does. They're free to make the rules they want, you're free to fly someone else. But don't agree to take strictly one piece of carry-on and then complain when they enforce the rule.0 -
My point is that noone is aware that they count a bagel as an additional piece of carry on luggage. But I shall wear it in future when challenged.illegitimi non carborundum0
