I was clicking adobe and it said it had loaded but on iplayer it said i still need to download it. also i dont know how the add on thing got on the computer ??????? i want it back to the old way.......

its because internet explorer has updated so is asking you if you want to allow addons

plus when you install adobe flash player you need to close your browser and restart it when its done

Many Thanks to "closed" for helping me get my computer up and running. He/she spent a lot of time and effort getting my computer going again. I would have gone out and spent money (money that I dont really have) on a new computer. I was a bit thick at times getting my head around what was being explained to me.
I now can get on my IE with a home page, and no message saying about Add Ons, and I can get on my Internet banking again....Thank you all so much and especially closed
    so pleased:j:j:j
Maybe I'll get my web cam working again and that will be the icing on the cake :j:j:j

Glad you're up and running. Have you tried the obvious things with your webcam, like unplugging it and plugging it in again?
You're on a roll now, sorting your computer out. No need to stop!

if there are no obvious incorrect settings problems (eg video section of skype), you could reinstall the logitech software (download latest version from website), and if that doesn't work, reinstall skype.

if your son is familiar with the setup, he could do it remotely for you using teamviewer.

well......son has been home and fixed the skype on the desktop and we seem to be sorted on that one.Wey Hey !
Just one small problem i am not able to print off somethings on the desktop.i tried to print off my tesco vouchers as i had lost them and it says to open the document and/or save it to print. I did both and it seemed to remain open in orange along the bottom of the screen.
I Was unable to get it printed tho either by saving as a document or just opening it and printing
It seems to be something to do with the settings ??????

    open in orange?

possibly something to do with acrobat reader (try foxit pdf reader), or your printer driver (reinstall), but the symptoms aren't clear
