According to the legal definition of month, November's payment would have to be done from the 16th to the 15th of December, and not the 14th of December. This is at least my interpretation of the law.

Ok thanks, but the basis of my question was more this part:
but what if the completion date was 29th Nov? How would you make a payment in Feb that was before this date???

Actually, Feb would be the fourth month so wouldn't matter

Can you all PLEASE stop bickering over co-ops definition of "month". I quote from myself several pages back:
It was definitely on a month basis based on switch completion date as my completion date was 17/11, but I didn't transfer the first £800 until the first week of December. In the meantime I received a letter in the post from co-op reminding me that I needed to make the first payment into the account by 16/12 in order to get the £200 bonus. So that should pretty much settle that argument :)

P.S. No £200 here yet, hopefully next week at some point!

...My date of transfer (I assume this is the same as date of completion) was 16/11, so she said the date of cashback would be 16/03...

I can't see how that works though for the people who've already received their £200 and their completion of switching dates have been around the 15 November.

Yes it doesn't make sense. My date was 18/11 and they have told me payments should go in from that date to 17/12 and so on. It is not calendar month.

So all my payments have been done according to this but no payment thus far although others with completion of 18/11 have got theirs. oh well.

After reading this thread I was beginning to wonder if I'd misinterpreted when to pay in.

However, my switching date was 15th November and I paid in £800 17/11, 3/1 and 24/1 and I received £200 today.

    Just got mine !!

    completion date 15/11

    800 Payment 31/10
    800 Payment 30/11
800 Payment 13/12 --- worried about this one as it was early
800 Payment 04/01 --- worried about this one as it was early
    800 Payment 28/02

I think they have a lot of accounts to work through it's not worth trying to second guess the definition of 'month'

    I'm really chuffed.

    Thanks op

Probably true. The discussion around the legal definition of month only becomes relevant if you're denied the £200. For those who get it, it does not matter.
