Co-Op bank - £200 if you switch to them

I applied on Tuesday by phone, decision was referred (no idea why) but accepted Thursday. I did the switching form on Tuesday over the phone. Interestingly the guy on the phone said the offer was for the first 10000 customers so perhaps coop have allocated £2million for this promotion. Lots of money.0

Have you seen that Martin now says the Coop account can't be operated online?!
There was no mention of this when I signed up and the actual Coopmpage still says secure online banking.
I'm confused, if there's no online banking I'll be cancelling my application.
I have a Co-op account and only operate it online. It's fine.
By the way - for any existing Co-op Account switchers, I have been texted by Co-op to say that my DD's are being switched. So hope it's all going through.0 -
do I have to be a member of the coop ...? Does anyone know?Have you seen that Martin now says the Coop account can't be operated online?!
Just filled in the online switching form so hopefully they'll now get around to switching my 3 SO's.
Has anyone transferred cash into there account yet? I've just transferred £1, lets see if it arrives.
I'm hoping I can access my account before the first SO is due!
(Actually, Uh oh, don't test transactions trigger anti-fraud algorithms?)0 -
Big thanks to those who posted the essential top notch info on this thread  something went amiss with my online application, I managed to nip into a branch at 9.30 am yesterday was seen immediately bar the inconvenience of an hour chit chit, had application accepted, switching forms completed and account number in hand.
Most will in I imagine fund the account with 800.00 in October as that may well speed up the 200.00 payment which is paid from memoryprobably got it wrong
think she said during the 4th month after three 800.00 monthly credits have been made.

This is what it says on MSE's banking section:
"New Co-op Current Account Plus customers get a huge £200 sign-up bonus when they switch to it and pay in a salary of at least £10,700. However, you can't apply or operate the account online - only over the phone or via Co-op/Britannia BS branches."

I have just phoned the Co-op to check my application and they say that I can definately operate the Current Account Plus online.
Have MSE got it wrong or is this just for new applications over the phone/in branch?0 -

I could operate my previous current privilege current a/c with coop online.
Presumably this should be the same with the current offer. I could not imagine if they have online banking platform and they do not allow people to operate online. With so many people have these accounts,How many customer advisors do they need to employ ...... ????I have just phoned the Co-op to check my application and they say that I can definately operate the Current Account Plus online.

I applied online last week, had a letter on Saturday saying "subject to a few formalities etc" my account will be opened pending ID validation.
Few questions:
Does this mean, provided I start the switch within 14 days I am still eligible for the £200 offer?
When I applied online, it asked me for my "main bank account" details - I put these in HOWEVER this is NOT the account I want to switch - do I still need to fill out the switching form seperately via the online link once I recieve my sort code and account number?0 -

Yes, as it says in the following link:
http://www.co-operativebank.co.uk/servlet/Satellite/1193206371591,CFSweb/Page/Bank-CurrentAccounts?WT.svl=copy
The letter you received may already show your account details. You will still need to complete the online switching form. I did mine yesterday . I'm not sure if it makes any difference if the account you switch is not the one shown on your application form.
I think its a good idea to make a note of the dates you submitted your online forms and retain the text confirmations that you receive. Just in case of any queries when the payout is due.0 -
If you have received a postal letter you already have your sort code and account number. You'll need these for the switching process. It clearly says anyone who opened an account between 17 and 21st October is elligible for the £200 offer once you complete the full switch.
The thing now is do we now need to fill out further forms to get the online bit working, as assumingly they'll otherwise thing we only want branch access? According to the web site, co-op now use a card reader, so we'll be needing one of those?0
