Co-Op bank - £200 if you switch to them

the 00 is for internal purposes and just means its a current account0

Applied online yesterday, email arrived this morning confirming approval. Now just need to decide which of my many current accounts to switch.
Thanks to OP and subsequent posters who have supplied useful info.0 -
If you opened it in branch what reasons were you given for them not being able to provide the details there and then?
I was also suprised at not having to sign anything or given any paperwork at all.0 -
I'm surprised we were not asking for ID during the online application process. In the past, my ID was checked electronically and them I'm asked to prove my ID by entering either my driving license number or my passport number. If you refuse or can't provide either they need equivalent paper forms of identification posted or taken to the branch.
Maybe they'll ask for them later.0 -
For those who got the NHS discount: Is it guaranteed to be paid out on top of the £200? According to the nhsdiscount.com website it's an additional £50. Is there any chance the £50 could override the £200 leaving you £150 down?0

I'm absolutely gutted on this one. Applied Monday, email confirmation Tuesday then a letter on Friday (only yesterday!) saying that I need to provide ID. Went to provide ID in branch today but it still has to go by post.
So I applied when the deal came out, acted as soon as possible on everything and yet it looks like the switching form link has been de-activated and I won't get the incentive. Absolutely fuming, so firing off a complaint letter to co-op, even though I am not yet officially a customer! It said that I would get 14 days from applying (being accepted officially with sort code and account number?) to make the switch to be eligible for the incentive, but their leaflet says I won't get the incentive if I haven't applied to make the switch before they withdraw, which it looks like they have. Quite unfair.
Woooo hold your horses!!. You will be fine. Ring up and give them the switching details.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
It said that I would get 14 days from applying
Saying that, I've never been asked for *any* ID. Just an email, and a letter saying "Welcome, your card and PIN will arrive shortly".0 -
I'm beginning to get confused here. When does the 14days start ? From being given account details? So I applied online and was accepted on line 'subject to.....' . I want this £200, do I have to be a member of the coop ...? Does anyone know?0

Have you seen that Martin now says the Coop account can't be operated online?!
There was no mention of this when I signed up and the actual Coopmpage still says secure online banking.
I'm confused, if there's no online banking I'll be cancelling my application.0 -
I'd say if you know your sort code and account number then your account is definitely open (might not be technically open but considering the limit is 14 days, I wouldn't leave it any later)0
