Wow I can't believe the amount of people that have been duped by this so called offer.
Co-op has refused to pay me because I paid in £700 before their mysterious cut-off date even thou I paid over the £800 for the month after opening. I am convinced I had a letter to say pay in £800 by a certain date but over 3 months later I just can't find it. I will certainly be closing the account and sticking with my Santander account.
Can't say I wasn't warned. My daughter switched to Co-op and among other mistakes they cancelled her mobile phone direct debit which cut off her phone.

  • If you didn't meet the conditions you can't expect to receive the bonus!

My completion date was 22nd Nov and I received my £200 about 3 weeks ago.
My wife's completion date was 30th Nov and her £200 went in today.

I can't see how much more simple it could be, pay in £800 (not £700!) for 3 consecutive months following your completion date!

I'm still closing my account as I am not happy that they gave me a counterfeit £20 over the counter in the branch and then made me feel guilty but more than happy to be £400 better off.

The conditions being quoted back on enquiry (although it can be argued that the definition of a "month" is lest than clear) are:

Once the switch has been completed (you should have received a text or letter quoting this date) then you need to have paid min £800 in each of the 3 months following in order to get a payment in the 4th month.

My completion date was 14 December

Therefore payment is due sometime between 15 March and 14 April as I paid in min £800 in each or the three "months" 15 Dec - 14 Jan; 15 Jan- 14 Feb; 15 Feb - 14 Mar.

To be honest, I had anticipated a bit of effort to get the reward so have paid in £1000 in the 5 calendar months Nov - Mar & will be most upset come 14 April if I have not received my bonus!!!

The point is I don't remember receiving a cut-off date letter. I am sure if I did (it was 3 months ago) then I would have sure as eggs is eggs paid the £800 by that date. I did pay over £800 in over the start of the account until the end of the first month. Co-op are pulling a fast one with their t&c's.
  • I didn't get a cut off date letter... a letter was received saying your switch completion date is X and if you pay in £800 for 3 consecutive months FOLLOWING that date then in the 4th month you will get the £200 bonus.
