:eek::eek: to the mobile phone thief! Banks seem to expect this will happen and I think as the innocent party you are quite well protected once the fraud is discovered. We had one long ago - someone decided to use our account to pay their phone bill. DH got sent home from the bank with instructions to ask me if I'd secretly bought a new phone! He looked very sheepish because at that point neither of us even had a mobile and it wasn't the sort of thing I'd do. Anyway it all got sorted out and the bank refunded us the money that had been taken - in this case taken by dribs and drabs, possibly hoping we wouldn't notice a tenner here and there, though eventually we did.
It's very unpleasant when someone does this and all the more that your address and passwords had been changed.
Hopefully they will get their come-uppance when the Police turn up at their door - assuming it's a residential address.
I expect the extra half pound was due to them too so don't worry it will soon be gone.

Re: whether or not to do WW, I'd say it's early days yet and you chose it because you thought it would work for you, so I'd be inclined to give it longer. However there are bound to be good recipes online so once you've settled into a good routine you could get adventurous and find some new favourites. JMO
And it's good to see double the amount of :Ts to :(s on your latest post despite all the drama!

Thanks sexpot
but I don't have the will power to go it alone.
I need that grumpy look on the ww leaders face and the shame of telling everyone I put weight on in the class
to keep me motivated. The Little Britain fat club thing is not so very far from the truth :rotfl:Hopefully they will get their come-uppance when the Police turn up at their door - assuming it's a residential address.

The postcode they gave was a false postcode!!!!!!!! and they never put a town!!! So how they thought it was going to be delivered heaven knows. I wonder how they are getting on with no phone, poor scumbag :rotfl:
And I shall endeavour to include more :Ts and less :(s more often but I can't promise anything :rotfl:Free by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
Good Morning

Well, it's finally payday :j I shall now wish my life away until the next one
The mortgage, council tax, gas and electricity have all been paid so at least we will have a roof over our heads and heat and light for another month
I also made a massive overpayment to the carp 1 card so it is steadily coming down
as well as another minimum payment to another debt. The rest will be spread out over the next couple of weeks, just so it looks like I have a little bit of my wages left
I have also set myself weekly budget based on what's left out of my money through the month and hopefully I will be able to stick to it.;) This will also give me a cushion for those unexpected bits and pieces that tend to crop up more and more often
So I'm back on the old MSE wagon, here's hoping I can stay on

That's what you call a balanced approach. :rotfl:
Carp 1 is definitely losing weight: your turn next.

Good Morning

I am a little bit chuffed with myself this morning. I got through payday without spending the total sum of cash in my bank account :rotfl:Woo Hoo.
I had to go and get the DDs haircuts but that was it
I sat at work and listened to people talking about how they were going for a big shop and out for lunch and dinner or to buy something or other they'd been lusting after since last payday and I thought 'that'll be your money gone, on carp you don't really need and then you'll be moaning about how little money you've got until next payday'
I have turned truly MSE :money:
I have my little budget this week and have taken the haircuts out of it and I know how much I have for shopping and fuel on Saturday. The meal plan is written and so the shopping list has been created and now I just have to find the willpower to get round Mr T without that supermarket fever taking over me
I don't know how I'll be next week but this week I am feeling quite focused and determined
I made a teeny weeny Pad to the Carp one card this morning again, just incase they'd thought I'd forgotten about them
That one is showing a big difference now but it's still in 4 figures, next month it will be down to three which is something I am looking forward to seeing.
Just goes to show what a little bit of determination can do.
*clicks heels together* I will be debt free one day, I will, I will :rotfl:
I have also noticed how much more positive I am compared to the beginning of the week and I am putting that down to coming on here every day again and concentrating on all the little bits and pieces I am doing to get to my long term goal.
Thank you MSE and all you lovely MSE'vers :TFree by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -

Hello Freeby,
Well haven't you had a lot going on? Some bad, but mostly good. I'm the same as you in needing to be on here often to keep me on track. Writing about my stuff and reading others keeps me focussed and motivated and excited really as there's so much support on here when you go to the right places.
I'm pleased to hear you sorted your fraud stuff out. How dare other people try to benefit from your MSE ways! My neighbours knocked at my house about a year ago with 3 mobile phone bills! Apparently someone had gone on a little spree and the phone company hadn't informed them like yours had! But they thought I may have had something to do with it as the names were listed as my ex! Although I wouldn't be surprised if he had done it to be honest.
Happy Happy Pay Day and many congratulations at not using that as a splurge date!
Your weight loss is going great too. Not many systems can cope with the ongoing weightloss so the 1/2lb gain will be a decent loss next weigh in while your system adjusts.
Congratulations on passing your OU course too.
How are you getting on finishing the other one you have? Need any help?0
