2014 Savings Challenge #161: £6771.58 /£40000 -
No updates for me until payday which seems so far away.Desperate_Housewife wrote: ȣ100K IN 10 CHALLENGE!!!!!
Lets do it when this one ends then
Would love that but woah, sounds impossible0 -
I rang the library today to query a fine (40p) and she took it off the library account! Now that IS tightness!!! Needless to say I transferred it into my challenge via my sealed pot and made it up to £2 for good measure!!!
Anyone read 'The millionaire next door'? I downloaded a sample onto the kindle for free but cant get it from the library but it looked pretty obvious from what I read. Basically spend less than you earn and dont buy flashy stuff..do that already.
Have a great weekend everyoneSave £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

Desperate Housewife - I was going to download The Millionaire Next Door too - it looks as though there is nothing new and wouldn't be worth it - maybe I would be better off putting the money in the savings!!0

If either of you want an electronic copy of this, PM me your email address and I'll send to you! Haven't read it myself so can't really comment on whether it's good or not!0 -
Only £600 saved this month (so behind schedule already). I am going to think really hard about how I can save more next month.0

Brizza & David78 - both really impressive amounts saved! Keep it up!
David78- January is often a hard month money-wise so don't loose heart!First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -
Just transferred the ebay auction money over and didnt deduct the postage off it so grand total of £27.15! Makes the overall total £829.93, I cant believe it as I never thought I had this much spare! Just goes to show what I can do if I prioritise savings over spending....
I'm treating my savings pot like a bill to be paid, deduct it aat the start of the month when I calculate the budget otherwise it might get spent.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
