    Hi all :hello:

£50 to put in today, £10 I've saved from items bought reduced and £40 from our water bill that's not coming out. Also another £50 into the account which I've decided to put over extra every day pay.

Evening all, hope everyone has had a decent day at work! Going through all my bank statements and such like to try and see where all the money seems to go! he says while drinking a cheeky whiskey and coke :T
    Current account - CO-OP Cashminder
  • Not that I've seen, they apply the fees on payment to anything I receive from ebay and nothing else. All the money I withdrew was transferred into my account.
Thanks for that FRACTUREDSUN, I have just transferred my ebay total over to the bank account, I checked on the website and the minimum is £6, it used to be £50 back when I did it last time, even better.

I'll total it up when it goes through..just over £26!

Hi everyone, this savings challenge is really helping us cut down on frivolous spending. So far thia week we have taken lunch in for the past 3 days in our new food flasks (£3 each per day saved: £18 so far this week saved) and taking a flask for hot water rather than buying hot water all day and a latte at 4pm I've made my own at my desk and only had 1 latte this week so saved a further £5.74. We're getting more organised and its so much better for us as we get more fruit & veg this way too for less £££

Hopefully it will help us to save a bit more each month- fingers crossed! :0)

This thread is keeping me very inspired too! Off to enter my meter rds online (earn nectar & keep a watch on our consumption!)
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!

Beefinbed; it is def possible. I did it this month (that was with paying my car hp & the bills/rent) it just takes some cutting back. Give it a go, I have set a high target for me for the year but if I dont reach it the worst thing about it'll be I have lots more in savings (so its really a win!!)

XSpender - it's been bugging me for ages...what are your GC Totals in your signatures. It will make me sleep easier if I knew! Lol

Nothing to lose any sleep over:D:rotfl:

I do the Grocery Challenge on the old style thread. You set a budget for how much you want to spend on food shopping and try and stick to it. As you can see from my sig I never hit it and I have being doing it since I joined MSE but I often come close and spend much less than if I let myself, and especially DH, have a free rein.:rotfl:

It does make you think about what you are spending and focuses the mind if this is an area where you overspend. And they are a lovely, friendly bunch on that thread too.

£1 in my pot and some shrapnel in shirley the shrapnel pig today.

Pay day on Friday for me:j DH and I have agreed to scrimp and save as much as possible this month as it is gonna be a tight one anyway with one thing and another but we still want to add money to the savings pot.
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

  • kittenkirst,
i agree, i've never been so encouraged. i've been reading MSE for a couple of years now but you guys just seem to make sense.

i keep adapting "the" spread sheet because people have great ideas on here. Having not saved before it's good to read everyone's ideas. I just wanted to save but now i've got an emergency fund, car fund, etc its even better and keeps you more focused.
    thanks agains guys
found £2 in paypal too because you reminded me :)

Another couple of things sold on eBay. It's funny, but before I started selling my DH had no interest in it at all, now he's even suggesting things of his I can put on there. I need to tread carefully though, let him have the idea on what he wants to sell and not to suggest something. Mind you, as soon as he suggests something, it's on there asap.
  • Transfered over the princely sum of £2.36 today as part of the virtual saving pot challenge. :rotfl:.

Worked out how much extra I have in my budgeting accounts, I have an extra £225 in my rent and direct debits budget account.:D I haven't decided though how much of that I want to transfer over, I quite like having a surplus on that account to cover months with fewer weeks. (I get paid weekly but of course most of my bills go out monthly, so if there are fewer fridays in a month I need a cushion).
