Another item sold, Going to try and make the whole 12k from ebay. I think I'm becoming an addict. It doesn't yield much in money but the space it creates is invaluable as we have downsized to a smaller house.0

Ok, this will be my last post for the week as we're off for our weekend away in the morning! :j
This week has been pretty poor, only £5.49 added to the pot. Still, every little helps!
Have a lovely weekend everybody0 -

What the heck are you selling on eBay to try and make 12k???? That's an incredible amount!!!Saving for first house [STRIKE]Target - June 2012[/STRIKE]New Traget - NOW
Deposit so far £35786.000 -
I get paid tomorrow so have cleared the balance of my current account in to my savings account.
As this is the end of my first month anything else I add to the savings will be classed as Feb.
Told DH exactly how much we had managed to save this month and he was over the moon. I am hoping it will encourage him to stick to our budget this month:DSave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Hi All!
Just a quick update from me. Not a great first month with a more expensive than expected holiday (booked before deciding we really need to save this year!!) It'll need to be paid next month. But on the positive side I'm home all of Feb (normally work away 2weeks out of the month) so am already planning a major Ebaying and hoping to finally get into MBing which I've been reading up on for ages. I'm also looking for a new job in a higher position which would definitely help with this challenge!
Good luck to everyone for the first totals next week!0 -
Yay! £57.50 in from Quidco - £50 from Post Office Credit Card and £7.50 from a LoveFilm trial.
Not counting it just yet though because it's gone against the credit card bill and I'll transfer what I can when I get paid.I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0 -
Not really got started yet :-( been misbehaving and buying too much stuff!
Am trying to put together a plan for Feb though to both meet some other personal goals (loose a stone & a half) combined with getting this underway. Year end time at work so hoping my bonus will be ok and put me on track.
PS well done to everyone who has started and therefore is guilt tripping me!0 -

Hi Lou
Selling on ebay - 40+yrs of clutter. We've downsized to a much smaller house and have two bedrooms full of unpacked boxes. Our new place used to be a plant nursery and you should have seen what they left behind, everything from plantpots, polytunnels to machinery. We've cut back on the livestock, we now only have what could be called 'hobby' animals, so tons of stuff there to sell. I have to say not all will go on ebay. I only listed on ebay for the first time last week so it's slow at the moment and hard work with the small items, but, having said that, I'm supposed to be retired so I could make it a full time job for a few months and to be honest some money is better than putting it all in several skips and having to pay to take it away.
I don't expect to make much this month, I have to get into a routine and there is a lag in time when you start, but I'm going to give it a serious go.0 -
Right, so payday today.
This month £808.80 has gone into my Nationwide MySave account (my ISA is long full up).
I have other cash available of £1,645.28, but need to use part of that to pay off £1,396.73 of credit card which is being stoozed until the middle of next month.
This means £1,057.35 in total. Would have been far better were it not for -
£310 for ICAEW subs.
£328 for cricket training courses.
£84.50 for new glasses.
Still, a tidy start. Makes me realise my hope of saving for the deposit is realistic, which is good because window shopping is getting tiring...0
