  • My auction ended this afternoon and I sold a few things, got just under £15 for them :) I'll total up later...

I found 5p on the floor today while out walking the dog so that went into the sealed pot :)

Feeling positive today though tired, I got up at 6am as I had backache so I did my ironing (on economy 7 electric!) made some bread, did the packed lunches for OH and kids, made some pastry for tonights tea and fried them all up a big brekky! Off to bed early tonight...

£2.33 added to the virtual pot today and £1 in my £1/day tin. Also spotted 2 x 10p on the sideboard so that's going to be snaffled by me on my way past and stuck in the pot too:rotfl:

  • Hello, I am new to this thread and would like to give it a go! I've heard that there were people that saves half their salary - I just didnt know whether a) it was even possible and that b) people actually did it! I cant do 50%, (just rent and car bills makes that amount) but would love to to do 35%. I REALLY MUST BE TOUGHER WITH EVERY PURCHASE I MAKE! Do i need it? Can I get it cheaper elsewhere? I've got to learn to control myself!!! haha

DH said I could sell the brand new woodburner that has been sitting in the summer house for ages - never been installed so hopefully that should yield a fair bit. Just off to find yet another box of items and I shall spend the next hour or so writing the [STRIKE]destructions [/STRIKE]descriptions on them, photos tomorrow and then hopefully to upload

Woodburner?? I've got two installed (cost £350 to get them both installed and signed off), and I love them! Free heat! (we get lots of wood given us, and we may visit the odd skip once in a while-ssshhhh!) Although it is easier to just turn on the heating, it is a nicer feeling loading up the woodburner and enjoying being warm for the cost of a box of matches! :) Dont sell it!

    a) It's possible, you just need a big enough salary!
b)I was saving about 38% before I retired, on a 20 hour week. I reckon I would have saved about 70% if I'd been full-time.

Not that I've seen, they apply the fees on payment to anything I receive from ebay and nothing else. All the money I withdrew was transferred into my account.
