Oooh I like that idea of rounding off! I've just done it today :0) (wont count that for the challenge tho!). I have a question though; I'm working overtime this weekend- wont be paid until 15th Jan (if I submit my form in time!) soooo does that count for this challenge? It'll only be 6 hrs pay (-tax) but it will all help! :-)First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -
Thanks Justin. I am very motivated to do this. It will leave me in a position at the end of 2012 to be able to buy my own house and do it up if needed and move out. Brilliant idea for a threa, the how much can you save thread that has been going ages just does not get the numbers in to spur each other on, i am another that will find myself always on this thread next year.

Can I change my target to £5000 please? Although I will still be aiming for the £8k I will need to use some of it before the end of the year but I expect to have £5k in my account at the end of the year. It is no less of a challenge for me as I still need the £8k!Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

hello, can anybody join or do you have to have a certain amount of posts? if anybody can join, regardless of posts can you sign me up too please!
i'm not holding out much hope of saving much as we don't have alot coming in... but will have an awful lot going out on catalogue bills in 2012! eek. nevermind, i'm willing to give it my best shot!!
edited to add: just to clarify, this thread is about bringing in any extra money possible (be it getting a 2nd job, selling items you no longer want, receiving money from a refund or for an occasion, making cut backs where ever possible as long as everything is done between the start and end date) and then actually putting that money aside so that at the end of the year you are left with cash savings... is that right or have i misunderstood? i'm new to the forum and there are so many different sections, threads and money saving ideas that it's a bit confusing at times. i don't want to join and then find out that i'm doing it all wrong.£254/£12,000 challenge... Only £11,746 to go! Wish me luck!0 -

I would love to join, though as our income is only £15,500 at the moment, and likely to go down to £11k in the New Year I am just going to aim for £2k, if I can save more it will be great but need at least £2k as son getting married in March 2014 in Melbourne so that would pay our fares, then what I can save in 2013 would be for spends.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
