would love to get some sealed post too, can you describe them plz

    Hi there Annie

They are from Poundstretcher about 8 inch tall tins with a slot in the top and are printed with a picture of a £20 note. They cost under a £1 each. The best thing is they are sealed and the only way you can get the money out is to take a can opener to them. This works for me because I don't want to open them as once opened I can't reuse them so it keeps me from dipping in to them.:)

  • Hi folks. I can't wait for this challenge to start. I have one last full wage left to be paid out from my job which I intend to put into the savings (will be about £1300 I think). Also have a tax rebate due which will also be put into the savings. I also need to get organised with my self-employed income to see how much of that I can save each month.

I have joined the Frugal Living 2012 Challenge too to see if I can keep costs down and save more - that said I am sitting here with the fire on. Think I will make myself a hot water bottle to sit with and put the fire off.

Rictus & Redbull - well done on motivating each other and setting a wee challenge for yourselves:T. All the best with it.

My husband and I aim to save £30k in 2012. We are total newcomers to the whole savings thing having just made the final payment on our huge loan last night! So I am really looking forward to having some savings for the first time in our lives, I am hoping it becomes addictive! We have spoken to a financial advisor who is sorting out a savings plan for us so that should give us some focus. Hope it is OK to join in even though it is more than the £12k challenge.
