It's lovely...think I'll need to find an excuse to use it!

Put me down for 10K please
  • Can I join too been using mse for some time now, but have had nothing much to add regretably (not much of a talker or should that be typer really). Technologically inept:o.

I am trying to save for a deposit for my first home.

I am going to aim for the big 12K in 2012, this will only be achievable with plenty of overtime, help from family and being extremely frugal.

Hello there. Please can I join. I save with my husband (so would not be able to save the £12K on my own) but also have my own small savings account. I have already saved over my £1,500 target this year - small amount for some but big to me.

Please put me down for £5K.

Good luck to everyone. Bring on the challenge guys!!

  • Hi,

    Please can I join?

Can't do 12k but I think I might be able to do 5k

    Thanks

    Steph :D
  • Well im getting more and more ready for this challenge, ive opened a new bank account with nationwide, they seem good.

Im going to transfer a set amount to cover my bills every month along with most of my outgoings, so i can only have a set amount to spend and i dont go overboard in the xmas sales.

Can you please change my total to £9000 please, im number 3 on the list thanks.

Also, in stead of *trying to build* an emergency fund, which i always end up spending. Im thinking about getting a CC for emergencies, but this will only be if i cant get money elsewhere which i can. Also, i can pay my fuel off monthly and build a credit rating i suppose, dont worey i wont fall into the trap of using it for everything. Im on a mission.

9k is £750 a month, i can guarantee £650 so need to find another £100 to make it happen.

    Bring on 01/01/2012

I think you can definatly do it redbull. Did you lose money on Liverpool? And how much did you lose? I was going to "invest" £2k or so into betting and slowly try and build up the bank, 2% stakes at a time.
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.
  • Yeh mate, was quiting after the liverpool game which returned £800. But lost, and have been bad and had a few more bets after that. But speaking to work mates about finances, (not about me) i have seen the light and how much money i have wasted so if i manage the £9000 i am going to treat myself and tour Australia and NZ before im 21.

Get a pay rise in February so hopefully that should be my extra £100 a month, and ive even accounted for £175 spending money each month, after all im 18 who loves a good old night out.

Hope you do great aswell mate, would love to do 15k live you, but i hope you get 20 or more. I set you a challenge to double what i save????
