I have finally updated my spreadsheet so see where I am with my savings for the year. My total is now £2838.00, sadly won't get to my original goal of £6000 but with my much reduced hours at work and some high expenses it was pretty much unavoidable
.
I was prompted to update my totals by slowlyfading's post in her new savings thread for next year (as I didn't want to be one of the people who flaked out!). Sorry, slowlyfading - I was an ostrich for a while when my income dropped and expenses rose as I couldn't bear to check what (probably bad) impact it was having on my savings!
I am owed some money which I should get in the next couple of weeks so hopefully my final total for the year will look a bit better.2014 Savings Challenge #161: £6771.58 /£40000 -
First wage in this morning so I have sent £2000 to the savings account. Hoping to add a little more once all the DDs paid off from my current account. Will update spreadsheet over the next few days. Feels great to have some real savings again.0

I have updated using the link on the first page. Thanks Slowlyfading for doing all this work for us. I would never have believed I could actually save this much without this thread.
Looking forward to next year - although my income will be dropping drastically in the spring.

Slightly tighter month this month (lots of vets bills for my poorly cat
) but still put away £975. Will update on the front sheet.
I am debating whether to join next year's thread. We are buying a house, so I can imagine I will be spending a lot (including these savings!) on that.I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0 -
Well good afternoon ladies and gentleman!
I have a very happy smile on my face this afternoon, as I have just totted up my savings this month - and I have beaten my personal best! Really pleased with myself - although I did have a little bit of help from my Birthday money!
So here at the totals - front page already updated!
Regular Saver 1: £250.00
Online Saver 1: £1000.00
Online Saver 2: £691.55
Grand Total = £1941.55
So this month I have made a good amount from ebay, had £125 for my Birthday and have basically had a really frugal month!
I am so looking forward to the 12k in 2013 challenge! This thread has changed my life - due to giving me the encouragement and motivation to save, save, save and I am now in a position where I am finally able to buy a flat... not that I have seen any that like yet mind you!
Well done to everyone else too - the figures on the front page are looking really impressive! x0
