Hi all!!!! Good to see some old faces and lots of new ones too! :)

I haven't been on here since about the start of 2012 - lots has happened, including me getting engaged and married! Sooo, the savings took a hit, but we did it as cheaply as possible and I am still on course to save almost £12,000 in 2012! :D I've been totting up and still have one a/c to access (Santander - their ebanking is crap) but so far I'm on (DRUMROLL) £65,339, which is £11,000 more than I had at the start of 2012! I didn't save *that* much pre-wedding, but I've been in saving overdrive since then! :money:

Also, my eBay sales are currently £4,559.89!

OH has about £17,000 in savings atm... so together we have over £82,000 saved

I must update my sig when I've got my Santander balances!

I love reading these posts. I get a real sense that "life balance" is alive and well here.

Lealea What a lovely post. It's like being on a 12 month journey with fellow travellers in this thread. I too am grateful for everyones support and have saved more than I would have done without this thread.
Kittenkirst I'm with you that holidays are important. My savings were dinted by a couple of breaks abroad with my family - but those times away were really worth it to me.
Tara Congrats on getting married!! And also on the savings you've achieved.
  • Sorry have just ammended dec amount as I forgot to add interest earned.

I now have only missed the target now by £56

    Total stands @ £5944 out of £6000

    *ahem*

I overestimated what was in my Santander accounts, my end of year total is actually a nice round £62,200 - so I saved a total of £7,858 in 2012! Way less than £12,000, but we did have the unexpected wedding expenditure :o and we also had to change our car, so that explains it. I will make up for it in 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!

That makes just under £80,000 in savings between me and OH.

I'm declaring my last amount for this year. I missed my target of £12000 by just over £1000.
Looking back over my declared savings for the year, i had less to add to my total during the summer months(which is hardly surprising). I'm really pleased to have saved as much as i did.
    Thanks for starting this.
I'm in for next year but it's going to be even tougher (might have to adjust my total).
    Happy Christmas.
  • Just popping on to a) congratulate everyone on doing so well!! and b) update my own totals. November was £1300 and December was £1500 bringing me to £11,403 for the year - just shy of my £12k total but I don't care - it's the most I've ever saved in my life!! Truly motivational thread!

Had been expecting a bonus at work, but sadly things have taken a turn for the worse there. Keen to join the 2013 thread, but not sure if £12k is going to be realistic given that my job may be no more from April...but we'll see, eh?

Well done to all who've declared already; good luck to those still saving!! :T
