Unlike last month, we had a bumper month in October and managed to save £1,608.91. Hopefully it'll be another good month in November. Woohoo, looks like we'll be meeting our £12k in 2012 target after all :)
  • Thanks for the info, LealeaV! :)

Will have some large expenses coming up due to signing on to the company pension scheme (rather large hit to take-home pay) and a trip to the States. But, managed to save quite a bit in October - up to over £14k now!

Welcome Dan and CCBrowning. This is a great thread for keeping motivated for savings.

Well done to everyone who has added to their pot this month!

Buffy - I suspect you're being hard on yourself. The fact that you are posting here means you're motivated - and every bit added to your savings helps - no matter how small.

I'm adding £242.09 to my pot for October, which is less than I'd hoped to achieve at the start of the month, but not at all bad given the outgoings I've had. DD and I decided to go to Moscow for five days in November (to watch the football & a few extra days as holiday) so I've paid out this month for flights and visas for both of us. In November I'll also have the bill for hotel and spending costs. But I don't mind saving less if I feel what I've spent it is worthwhile - and having a break coming up puts a spring in my step.

I don't think I'll achieve my target by the end of the year - but as this is a revised target (I achieved my original target of £3600) - I won't mind at all.
  • Another Bump.................

C'mon everybody where are you all hiding........

    Bring on the updates

  • Put another £100 into Novembers pot, it will be touch and go whether I hit the 12k, but I am going to have a damn good go at it and if i just fall short I will still be happy with my total to have another bash at it next year!
