Just updated the October total which will be £1,658 tomorrow, I'm doing better than I thought I would at the start of the year.
Bring on next years challenge :-)0 -
I have been AWOL from this thread since May
.
I moved into my new accommodation then (which didn't work out) and didn't have internet connection (or hot water for a while!) so didn't update.
I ended up with a number of unexpected expenses and couldn't bear to update my Excel spreadsheet as I felt the outcome wouldn't be good.
Now I am going to be moving onto very part-time work so if I don't have to dip into savings, I will be doing well.
I hope to be in a better position next year!2014 Savings Challenge #161: £6771.58 /£40000 -
An update for #86.
I've managed to save £250 each month so far and am on £2750.
Nearly there! (Though it will be spent on house repairs when the funds are released!).0 -

Hi folks, I have raided the savings to use some for spending money for our holiday and have also had to dip in for car insurance but hoping to add some back into the pot over the coming months. Still aiming for £5000 by end of the year!
Will post updated amount later in the week once I am home from holidays.0 -
Over a week till pay day, I've put over another £60 so my final total for September was £1000.

Hi guys!
I've updated the form and my sig at long last! It was very confusing to work out how much I've saved because I'm finally buying a house! This has meant closing various accounts, moving money around and squirreling away every spare £ over the last two months as well as moving OH's (tiny) savings into my own account - my spreadsheets have become a bit muddled! I'm not sure how I managed to save so much in Sept and Oct so far except that I have received interest, cancelled things, sold things and basically spent nothing to save for the solicitor fees and I've nearly reached my £5000 target :j :jFor most of this year I was convinced I wouldn't be able to reach my target or ever buy a house so I'm really pleased.
It's great to see everyone elses progress too, I couldn't have got this far without the support and motivation I have received from others on this forum so thank you everyone and thank you slowlyfading for this challenge!"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. Another period of inactivity on the forums ( I have an excuse, I was in Brazil & Argentina on Honeymoon!) I have updated my total, I think I have saved more than the stated £250 over the last 3 months but some of it may have been spent in South America!!!!!
So from here I am going from a point of £6800 with the aim of saving £5200 over the next 3 pay days! A tough task but I want to ensure that I cover the 12k, we spent way less than we thought we would on honeymoon and reckon we ended up on £3,000 in total for both of us including spending money which i dont think is bad for a 19 day honeymoon!!!!! Between now and Xmas its savings all the way, its payday on Friday & I am hoping to be able to save over £1,000!Millionaire in Training
