  • Good morning, all.

Just updating for August, a good month, thankfully

1,500 pounds (sorry, had to reinstall windows and can't find the pound sign).

Squirrelling it away as fast as possible, as may lose all income soon :(

    Good luck to everyone,
    Rosemary

£1000 done for August (after raiding one of my emergency savings accounts of £50!)

Total savings up to £19k (about £22k with interest and stuff I think) and should be fine for the £25k by the end of the year. Then the hard work starts where I need to get to £50k by Sept 2014...2 years to go :-)

Last day of the month and a cracking month for us - £2113.60 to declare! A lot of that is down to a 20 year insurance policy maturing.
    Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

We saved £800 this month. :j

Next month won't be much fun financially - we've got a couple of biggish expenses (dental bill - yay... possibly car insurance renewal which will be very end of next month, or maybe start of October; and we may be buying a treadmill since we'd end up saving back the cost on gym memberships in around a year) - so I'm expecting a negative figure for next month... :o

But things have been going well overall and I wasn't expecting to save £12k in 2012 back in January so if we miss out on our target, things will still have gone very well.

August is highly likely to be a (large) negative month for me, but I have been expecting that for a while.

I did mention last month that my total would probably drop next month... and it has!

Reporting a decrease of £1,775 this month, which I believes take me back down to £12,285 for my YTD total.

Still some more big expenses to come, but this month's total was helped by other half paying me back for Olympics tickets and an unexpected tax rebate of c.£600, which was nice!

I think Sept will be a better month for me, but either Oct or Nov may see another drop, though I'm cautiously optimistic that £12k for the year is looking ok.

However, I would like to re-declare a new savings target for the year - will aim for £15k now.

Keep up the good work everyone! :)

Sounds like you've selected the US keyboard where the Pound is replaced by a Hash. Try changing the default to British and you may get your Pound back :D

  • Hello everyone! It seems that everyone is doing so well - well done everyone!

Well it feels like I am now in the home straight and the end of year total is not too far away now.... People are even starting to mention "Christmas".....

Well here's my monthly update, I've already updated the spreadsheet!

    Regular Saver 1 - £100.00
    Regular Saver 2 - £250.00
    Regular Saver 3 - £250.00
    Online Saver 1 - £592.25

    Total - £1192.25

Quite pleased with that, but feel I could have done a bit better this month - overspent on groceries this month, and also had a long weekend away - but it was well worth it! It may not have done my savings much good, but I do feel better now that I have had a couple days away and it was so nice to spend time with friends and family!
  • Hello everyone,

I am really happy to say i have hit my end of year target this month. I have managed to save all of my overtime pay and ISA interest which has led to me saving £2,177.42 :j:beer::j

I will go and update the first page
