Another good month for August, £1,425 saved today. Almost at my target :-)0

Welcome back Justin! Sound like a fab honeymoon and well done on having some money left over.
I have had a bit of a blow out using some of the money my mum gave me! New dress, new jacket and new necklace (all will be worn to my new wee niece's christening). I have also booked a weekend break for the end of August (I did get the £29 Premier Inn rooms so not too much) and a week in October so I will need to readjust my total once I work out how much is left .
Despite the depleted funds I enjoyed my wee blow out day at the shops and am looking forward to my holidays when they come. Now back to focussing on saving as much as I can.

Have calculated my new total afer my blowout earlier in the month. My new total is £4275. OHs pay day is on Friday (I hope - he gets paid on the 25th but if that falls at the weekend they usually get paid on the Friday) so will have more to add to the total before the end of the month.
I am hoping to reach my £5k target soon but next month have birthdays and will have to pay for my October break - deposit paid, still have £390 to pay plus food/spending money. We will mostly eat in when we are away as there is a fantastic butchers shop in the town. We will take basic groceries with us to minimise costs as some of the local shops can be expensive.0 -
Update for August - £1400!
I've been on study leave, working at least 14 hours a day which means I haven't been able to spend any money!

Spreadsheet updated for August with the cheery sum of £1,605. I cannot pretend that was due to hard work and diligence - I received a small cheque for an inheritance. At least it didn't get spent though!I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.0

My new total is now £4625:j. Most of the credit goes to my mum for her early birthday pressie. WIll update the main sheet shortly.0

Very late to the party with this, but would very much like to join you all in going for a savings target! My mortgage is just 2.5% so I figured I'm probably better off saving towards next years ISA allowance rather than paying that off.
Will set myself a £4k target - in keeping with the £1k per month as implied by the thread's title, though I fear that may be a little optimistic - only time will tell!
On a side note, I notice a couple of people are saving towards their dream car... I did the same myself, and absolutely love it, but just a few months down the line and I'm actually considering selling it; as good as it looks, as nice as it is to drive etc it's still just a car at the end of the day. It'd make reaching my target easy if I do go that route0 -
Declaring £800 saved for this month, not a much as I'd hoped for but still pleased and I'm on target and will break the £10k barrier next month. :j
Front page total updated to £9,640.
