  • Not updated for a while, but £170 paid into my FD regular saver. Am hoping for further savings to add to my ISA later in the month, so will update again. Recently lowered my target, but may exceed that now and be closer to my original target of 4k :) - whatever I end up with its still more than I started with which is great!

  • Hi all. Been away for a while doing all the things that take up time in real life! The savings are going well though, have updated the spreadsheet and I'm now at over £10k! I have never had this much in savings in my life!!

Being careful with money has become almost a way of life although we are still enjoying ourselves. The summer holiday came to £6k (ouch) despite having free flights and we're now refurbishing our bedroom and ensuite which is going to cost another £3k or so but I have money put aside separate from the savings for this.

The mobile phone contract cashbacks are still coming in at around £60 - £100 a time every few months (two contract phones) and I'm making the most of the supermarket 'bribery' coupons they keep sending me - 10% off at Morrisons and a similar amount from Tesco, in between these I'll use the low-cost retailers to save money.

So, looks like I'm on track for the £12k by the end of the year which is brilliant news and just shows what can be achieved with some focus. Maybe next year I can make it £20k!!

  • Sorry slowlyfading, I just discovered I messed up my monthly totals. I forgot to add one of my monthly savers with the others. I have corrected this by putting in new data on your google spreadsheet update.

So not including Sept savings as I will be doing that next week, I am £4905.00 out of £6000. Leaving me £1095 to save before xmas.
  • £11,250 here, will just scrape home on December the 1st!!

Still plodding away here. Not really got much to say during the month, just gets exciting towards the end! Saving REALLY REALLY hard and looking forward to having what ever I have by the end of the year :)
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000
  • Pay day for OH tomorrow. There is very likely to be a big fat Zero going into my savings this month. Have a wee holiday to pay (and find some spending money for) as well as my Car Insurance due.

Most likely that I will need to take some money out of the savings to help with these expenses:mad:. On the plus side I am going through the final stages of becoming a Supply Teacher (this self-employed lark is not working out) so I should have a bigger income soon! I hope!
