I have not been online much, lost track of things. My total pot now stands at £8850. I have updated my spreadheet for September (though the amounts are spread out over several months).
  • Still no deposit returned. Taking action, but in the meantime this month it is a meagre £337.76

    Still hoping to get there!

  • A meager 337? I would still say well done :)

I'm not part of the 2012 but will join 13. Any saving means not getting in debt which is awesome. I look forward to going you all.

So, I FINALLY got some time to look at finances et al!

Managed to transfer the monthly £1000 to savings however did have to take £100 from my car savings fund to do this. On the plus side, other mini savings accounts which I haven't been counting towards this challenge are now increasing by a further £500 a month (weekend job!) - I might add these extra bits in December so my end total is accurate.

I've been considering slowing down the savings plan for the next 2 years :-( I've got another 24 months before I can buy a new house and original plan was £50k deposit/£200k mortgage but I'm having absolutely no life at all. I'm not going out and I'm always thinking of how much everything costs. It's getting a bit depressing now so thinking I should put some definite "fun" money aside. Need to have a wee think! A new job would certainly solve the problem.

Anyway, I'll stop the moaning now and go an update the balance.

Well done to everyone who's on track! Only 3 more pay days to go! x

Awww, thanks! It's meant to be £834 for my monthly target :P Also, £300 goes into my savings straight away at the start of the month, and then anything that's left at the end goes in too, so transferring the £37.76 felt really lame!

It doesn't help that I lost my travel card this month, and all sorts of silly things that have led me to spend more money.

But hey, it's life isn't it! And you're right, it is better than nothing.

Really good to read people's effort. Well done to those of you who manage to do this.

I came quite late onto this thread so did not do anything with it for 2012.

But, looking forward to the 2013 savings thread.
  • A month of both :) and :(.

Now unemployed, and have been for a week. Have a three month temporary contract at my old work place starting next week, so will only be out of work now for two weeks. :) Also, will be paid slightly more during the temporary contract than I was when I was permanent (not sure how that works, but I'm not complaining!).

I don't plan on making any September savings, want to keep the money easy access until I get paid next, then I hope to make a massive transfer to savings next month.

So total September savings £0 :(
