Reporting £896.85 for this month even though my PINsentry thing went out of battery and that means I haven't been able to put those into my savings account yet! Hopefully it will happen soon enough.
Meanwhile, my total for the half-way mark is £5,120.15 which I'm so pleased with, it's only just over where I should be which means:
1) I picked the right target for the year
2) I've been doing well!
I'm thinking I may splash on a few private tennis lessons in July, but then August should be cheap as there will be no transport and little food expenses.Saving £10,000 in 2013: £4491.48/£10,0000 -
Well done to everyone, some good updates
Reporting £1,181.72 for June 12. We're very happy with that. As mentioned previously, we had a £300 car repair bill this month. Despite that I had an unexpected bit of self employed income plus we sold some things on eBay, so we ended up with a healthy monthly saving amount.0 -
New month so i am going to aim for £1,000 again any thing over will be a bonus.

Well done to everyone after 6 months hard saving!
I am declaring £1706 for this month - which is actually £1506 plus the £200 I forgot to add on the last day of last month - oops! I am pleased with this total, but as I am away to Berlin for a couple of days of fun with the girlies this week I am expecting next month to be less as I will have to pay for it!
I am also on holiday for the summer and tend to spend more when I am not at work. Will need to look up fun things to do for free.
Have a good July everyone!0 -

Hi everyone,
Not doing so well this month. It's my worst month too! But have a big bill for garage roof repair coming up, so only managed £157.87 (member 159). Don't know how people manage to save a thousand in a month? Most years I never manage to save a thousand, obviously doing something wrong. May even have to dip into savings to fund rest for the garage roof, and definitely no holiday this year because of it. Did well last month. Put aside £1000 at the beginning of the month and managed not to touch it. Plus £4.97 in interest, so it's £1004.97 I'm declaring for June.
July is going to be quite different. I've splashed out on olympics tickets (won't happen again on home soil in my lifetime, so feel justified. One of the lessons I've learned in life is that it is worth spending on experiences I'll remember into the future - and I love sport). But it means I'll have a very large credit card bill this month. I'll endeavour to pay it off straight away from my monthly income & 'temporary borrowing' from money pots I've set up for bills due later in the year. If I juggle it all okay, scrimp to minimise spending so I can pay back the money pots, and don't splash out on anything else, I anticipate I'll be able to get back to normal by the end of August. But that means very little saving is likely to happen in the next 2 months. I'm okay with that as I'm only £324 short of the target I set for the year anyway.0
