Sorry to say fallen short this month only managed £295 of the £500. Feeling unwell and low so will push myself next month to top up in July.0

Have added another £70 to my ISA taking my total to £1911. Since I have already updated for June I will include this as a July update. Was a payment from doing post-event massage at the Edinburgh marathon, it will have to be declared to the tax man but still want to save it all.
Hoping to get past the £2k mark by the end of July.0 -

No 018 My Digital Self reporting a grand total of £0!
Yep that's right £0 - the month started off well as I squirrelled cash away from DH's salary & money saved on over-estimated bills, but then DH started spending 2-3 days a week in London, which because it's summer & approaching the Olympics maxed out his credit card & temporarily decimated our savings.
Fortunately this will be expensed back, but at 4-5x £500 a trip it adds up...
Just last week he spent 2 nights in one central hotel - 1st night (mon) was £92, 2nd night (tues) was £229!!! For the same room that was little more than a single bed in a cupboard with ensuite "shower room"... In a 4* chain hotel!!!
Fortunately this isn't his regular choice of mse-friendly hotel (no availability).
Earlier on in the year his whole 3 day/ 2 night trip (incl. trains) would be approx. £260!
I'm just glad that a) our only debts are credit cards used for such expenses, and b) we have some instant access savings!
Oh and another thing - his employers' payroll company have stuffed up their childcare voucher payments - deducting them AFTER tax, but it is the 1st month & finance are chasing this up...
July should be less stressful, if not very money saving, as we've decided to book a last minute sun holiday to a) get some sunshine & b) have some family time as DH has been working very hard!

Finally managing to update without reminders
Reporting £980 for June - which is a big surprise, as I thought it was an expensive month. (challenge number 101)
Hi, SF, thanks for updating everyone; could you change my target to the full £12K, please. That should help me concentrate harder!
Well done to everyone on the thread,

This has been my worst month so far!
I havent ebayed anything this month, due to additional work stress, so my general income was lower and I've had to buy some clothes as I have now hit the 6 stone weight loss and desperately needed new clothes! I have also paid for our holiday, so things have been a bit tight this month!
But this month is now over and I need to look forward to next month - life is never plain sailing, particularly when it comes to money saving!
Everyone seems to be doing really well on this challenge, and you lot really inspire me to carry on!0
