what a good incentive to save towards!
Thanks slowly....really looking forward to it, will be the 4th visit in 5 years...I'll crack that city yet0 -
Challenger 188
I'm on £3,250.
Should be able to accelerate that over the second half of the year with better budgeting, a raise and a bit of pragmatism.
Its weird, 12k in a year doesn't sound like much, but if you break it down its like 240 a week. In order to save that you need to be making 500+ a weekl usually, well over 30k a year anyway.
That's pretty decent in Northern Ireland right now.
I'm only 26 i suppose.0 -
Hi slowly! Just a quick update. My savings have reduced from £2350 to £520 since yesterday BUT I have paid off my wedding bill in FULL!
Extremely happy!
Roll on 20th July now, let the countdown begin

Sorry for being slack at posting everyone, thanks to slowlyfading for the PM!
I have updated the spreadsheet and my sig with current total - £8100 which i am very pleased with!
Well done to all those sticking to the thread. I can't believe we're nearly half way through the year, its gone so fast!0 -
I agree with Finding, the year is going fast! I can't believe it was mid October you first set this challenge up SF!
I don't think I am going to be able to hit my target. Very long story but Mr G will be moving out soon. His dd's mother died and his dd is now living with us permanently. She was only with us 1-2 nights a week before. There is just not enough room in my tiny flat for the 4 of us so they are looking for somewhere else. There will be no change to our relationship (not that we have had much of a relationship these past few months with the mother dying etc) but until we can afford a bigger place all together we will have to live apart. It means I am going to be missing out on the money I get from him each week which was going towards this challenge.
Anyway, I don't want to change my target. I still want to aim for doing my best and even although I don't think I will hit target, I haven't given up and I am as determined as ever to get as much as I can
C'mon people, we can do itMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

gap - if that's what has to happen, then that's what was to happen - sending you a (((HUG))) in the meantime
don't worry about your target; there's still half the year to go!
