  • Just transferred over another £10 my Grandmother sent me as payment for an amazon purchase I made for her (I'd bought it with my gift vouchers ;)).

    Hi all

I am fairly new this (in fact have only just officially registered about half an hour ago!)

I would like to join in if its not too late - although I cannot save £12,000 in 2012, I would like to start by aiming for £7,000.00 by 31/12/2012.

I take home £1,600ish per month, and have worked out that after bills etc I can put aside £400-£500 per month in savings. I am also expecting a bonus from work later in the year of (hopefully) £2,000-£3,000.00.

Any advice or tips would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks

    DFW_57:)

Added £3.07 which was originally a Spoints paypal payment. (It actually paid part of my netflix subscription so I transferred the money I had budgeted for it across to my savings instead).

I've overbudgeted for rent & DDs etc by £226 so have transferred £100 over to my savings (Another £50 to my 'shiny things with lights and buttons' fund and the rest stays just in case).

I have about £1700 left on my ISA allowance this tax year, don't expect to be able to fill it but I'm going to try to transfer as much in as I can before April 5th.

Well, so far this month I've saved a big fat zero!!!!!!!!

I thought Feb was tough, March and April are even harder for us!

Both cars to be MOTd, car tax on one is due at the end of March, just arranged car insurance policies for both cars , home insurance is due beginning of April and pet insurance almost straight after that!!! It's never ending

So pretty sure savings will be very low this month:(
