  • :(:(:( £335 out of my savings today to pay for the heating oil as it's now down to level one! Have to wait till OH gets paid next Wed to get it back... Really annoyed we had to do this and the spirit is low. The only thing that keeps me going is the free listing w/end on ebay!:jso lots of listing for me tomorrow and Sun.

Slowly but surely edging my way towards the £1000.

Is it just me or is Superscrimpers on C4 a dreadful programme? It could so easily be good with really useful tips, but it's so dumbed down and everyone is spoken to as if they're half witted.

I agree, it makes me laugh when they put 3 mashed up crayons in to oven to make a bigger crayon, the price of gas and electric it would be cheaper to open up a crayon factory!

I have just got £8.02 interest from s*ntander for this months 5% interest but it drops this month so I have swept the balance into mu isa and will close the account. Total so far is £1008.02!

  • My First Direct regular saver @ 8% matured yesterday: interest of 85 quid! Could've been more if i'd saved the full amount! Off to open another one...

Yeah, and about Superscrimpers - they do everything so fast that the really useful tips (like that one about parboiling potatoes and freezing them - hadnt thought of that) are skimmed over so quickly it's blink and you'll miss them!

I looked at the fd regular saver but it seemed a bit of a faff to me, is it worth doing?

Well depends on what you think of as faff. I have a FD 1st account and so it's easy to set up a regular saver. They were doing the 8% rate a year ago so I signed up. Saved the maximum when times were flush and then when i had less money I reduced it down to 50 a month and then it expired a few days ago. The only thing that has annoyed me is that it took them a week to convert the account to a Savings account so I could withdraw my money. Hope that helps!

  • Hi everyone

Have just finished listing 9 items on Eb*y to take advantage of their free listing weekend. I've only ever sold something once before so doing this has felt like a pretty epic feat :D

I'm still on a mission to make the cost of my very non-MSE special pampering haircut treat this month and am surprisingly impressed by my efforts to date :) I've managed to sell 5 of my 12 books on Ama*on already and 4 dusty old textbooks via the Trade-In. It's shown me what is possible if I put my mind to it :T

I have some cashback payments which will mature and get paid later this month too. So, I'm now looking around for an extra £66.61 so hoping some of that will come from Eb*y. We'll see.

    Happy Sunday evening everyone

    Hi guys,
Is it too late to join? I'm really hoping to save 12k during 2012 as we're desperately trying to save for an extension.
  • Just transferred over another £8.38 from paypal (a mixture of superpoints payments and a 99p ebay listing).
