It does seem to be a problem other people have experienced :(
  • Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and I'm after a bit of help with the dreaded Cahoot!
I sent them the first of Martin's template letters on the 19th April (requesting details of bank charges for 2 bank accounts and a credit card) via Special Delivery, the letter was returned to me today with RLB scrawled over it in blue crayon (any ideas what that means?) and a Royal Mail Undeliverable Sticker on it (but with none of the boxes for reasons marked).
I used the address on this site (Friars House, Coventry, CV1 2TE) which tallies with the one on the back on my cards so I know it's correct.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do - Royal Mail are no help at all, should I send Cahoot an email, re-send the letter to a different address (if so - which one!) or what?
    HELP!
    Any advice much appreciated!

    Thanks
    Malinky

    Hi

I am half way through with Nationwide & just decided to check my Egg & Cahoot credit cards for charges

I sent a secure message asking for the Data Protection Address so i can get a list of charges & got a reply almost instantly saying the full list of charges has been ordered and will be sent within 40 days

After reading this thread i'm not quite sure if i should follow it up with a Recorded delivery letter too

I have printed off and saved the email.... looks like Cahoot may be harder to break than Nationwide
    Successfully claimed: £2119.14 from Nationwide

Just requested: £289.06 Argos, £140.27 GE Money, £75.52 Grattan, £123.42 Egg, £391.46 Cahoot

Hi, I have been with Cahoot since Abbey first started it up. I have had a few 'run-ins' with them over the years but last week was the final straw. Without going into detail I have now decided enough is enough and am going to try and reclaim my charges back on both my current A/c and my credit-card A/c. I am prepared to accept that Cahoot may 'boot me out' and close both these accounts should I be successfull but I also have a loan account with them which is currently down to just under £7000. Could they also demand repayment of this loan in full? I could possibly do it but it would seriously strain my financial resources to the limit!
    Thanks.

I've had the 65% offer (around £2,300) from Abbey (for my Cahoot current account) and they've now filed their Defence with moneyclaimonline. Should I:

    1. Accept their offer.
    2. Contact them to try to up it to, say, 80%.
    3. Hold out and hope they'll settle before going to Court?

I would always hold out for the full amount, but it's up to you. Obviously this would take longer, maybe months. Depends how much you need the money quickly.
