Any type of mental cruelty is abuse. in fact what he has been doing behind your back for months on end is abuse. he has been laughing behind your back, meanwhile making plans to leave you and sell your house out from under you. this all amounts to abuse. Just because he is nice to your face and hasn't hit you doesn't mean you don't deserve to ask for help from a woman's charity. they understand that abuse comes in all forms.
  • Newcook I would love to do this but I really don't want to speak to him or be near him, he has treated me with no respect at all, but I am going to come out of it with my head held high.

I too was in denial until I spoke to them- and the support was invaluable. You don't have to have bruises to be abused, and you won't recognise yourself until you speak to them. He is abusive - this man has zero respect for you as a woman, as a partner, or as the mother of his children.

he has lied repeatedly to you - and been unfaithful on an ongoing basis.

You however took him back, gave in to threats, and are still supportive to the point that you mentioned him raising another mortgage on your home to provide a home for another woman like it's normal.

I can only tell you that their help can be fantastic - they know the ins and outs legally, and they are free. They will be on your side, they will ensure that you don't give in or go along with anything now that will cause you hardship later.

Forgot to say they are away together next Wed, Thurs and Friday.

How nice for them. Be such a shame if someone sprinkles some pepper in the undies he packs. ;)

    Happy moneysaving all.

the mortgage is in his name, as is the house? how can the op stop it? the house may be an asset of the marriage but if he sells it or remortgages, then the money becomes an asset iyswim?

Because she has an interest registered agains the house with the Land Registry.
