Do the council still give those voucher things for decorating when you move in?

Fortunately, your ill considered thoughts don't fall into the catagory that we call "Living in a civilised society". As such, they aren't really relevant.
Of course, there's nothing stopping you from applying for social housing.
i agree that people should have decent housing. but i don't see it as a right that people that don't contribute to society should expect decorating vouchers.
i don't think the country will stay wealthy if we squander money on the underclass.
i think we'll have to agree to disagree. i just hope you find a job.0 -

So, the ill, the infirm, the elderly and the vulnerable should all be cast into a world of squaller and sub-standard housing? That's an interesting viewpoint. Fortunately, it isn't shared by the right-minded.
Shame on you.0 -

i think over 6000 posts in a year points to him being unemployed.
i don't think everyone in SH is on the dole.0 -

That's only 12 posts a day, less than you've done today. Should I assume that you are unemployed?
Frankly, your personal circumstances are of little interest to me. As I've already made clear, my view is of the bigger picture. You should try it sometime.... Broaden your mind and all that. Might even make you look less of a tlt!0 -

Hmm not quite sure how you managed that conclusion, you can work full-time but only 3 days a week if your shifts are 12 hours etc.
Don't you think working people in council houses should be entitled to these vouchers then, to decorate the property they are paying FULL RENT for. Council houses are almost as much as private now, not much difference at all0 -

ehhhhmmmm i've already said i was made redundant last month. i've worked most of my life but also been unemployed - so i can see both sides of this argument.
have you ever worked? if you haven't you don't really know what it's like to see taxpayers money go to people that don't deserve it. i agree that people should have a right to a decent living conditions, but what people like you seem to forget is that people also have responsibilities.0 -

I'm presuming that you aren't a social housing tenant, yet you seem able to form an opinion on them. So why do you make the assumption that I am unemployed just because my opinion differs from yours? More double standards? Or are you really are that much of a tlt?0 -

well yeah, i'll be honest at school the people from council houses were generally different from the private house people. they were the ones that got into trouble/ got pregnant/ quit school at 16 etc*.
i think you're unemployed because you seem unable to see anyone else's opinion and have a bolshy attitude - not qualities valued by an employer. also that post count is a giveaway.
*not all of them, but enough to see a trend0 -

With narrow minded bigots like you around, is it any wonder they conform to your stereotype.
There are plenty of careers where a bolshy attitude and the ability to argue a point without recourse to insinuations about an individuals personal circumstances, or resorting to crass generalisations, are seen as prerequisite. Perhaps you should try it, as your current performance seems to be doing little to assist you in the employment stakes, does it?0
