But..... looking on the other two websites, my calculations show I should have gotten £9.55 back. Has anyone any ideas on how they calculate the difference?hurricanewyn wrote: »Well, when I looked on Asda and Tesco's website I calculated the difference as £1.88 more than Sainsbury's did. I did look at exactly the same things, with the same pack sizes and weights.
I've phoned their Careline and they've told me they get a price scan from brandview.co.uk daily, so I'll have a nosy at that and see if they show something different.
Wow cant believe you got a voucher for over £7, i was imagining the vouchers to be like 5p or something as they match so many prices already.
Were there any items in particular that came out much more expensive at Sainsburys?
Does the voucher tell you which product the difference was on, that way you could work it out as to what was not matching up.0 -
Hiya
I got the following:
Plenty White Kitchen Towel 6 pack £5.26 at S but £3 at A
Lake District Cheddar 400g £3.99 at S but £2 at A (Also BOGOF at Sainburys, but I don't need that much cheese!)
2 X Dairylea Dunkers £4.36 at S but £1 at T
Queen of Shaves Razor £3.99 at S but £2 at A
Birds Eye Petits Pois 1.2kg £2.95 at S and £3.00 at A
Marmite 125g £1.51 at both
I had targeted my basket so that I could take advantage of what's on offer in the other supermarkets (and I had some coupons to use up). There were two people ahead of me in the queue, one got a voucher for £0.05 and the other got one saying their shopping was cheaper in sainsburys than in the other two.
The voucher has no details on it - just says "Sainsbury's Brand Match £7.67 off your next shop"
I don't drive and live a 2 min walk away from Sainsburys but two buses away from the other big 3 supermarkets, so had hoped that shopping like this would mean that I could take advantage of the special offers that are on in the other shops without the time it takes to get across town, but I'm not convinced that the voucher I got back is accurate.
I'll give it another go before making my mind up, I thinkSealed Pot Challenge - member 1109:j0 -

Come on, get it right MSE!MSE_Article wrote:If your branded goods cost £15 at Sainsbury's, £14 at Asda and £13 at Tesco, you'll receive a £2 coupon, as that's the different between the Sainsbury's basket, and the cheaper Tesco basket.
I don't think this is correct, since ...MSE_Article wrote:Shoppers who spend £20 or more per shop at Sainsbury's stores [...] will automatically be eligible for the scheme.0 -
Doesn't your whole shopping must be £20 or over to qualify for the scheme, and not £20 worth of Branded products?
correct. You need to spend £20 or more in one transaction in a main supermarket and buy at least one branded product that is exactly the same (e.g. the same size, the same flavour, variety or colour) to the branded product on sale in Asda or Tesco.

Can we have a thread on the best deals to get to make it worthwhile please like we did for the tesco price check?0

Apparently Mr T will accept the vouchers. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Didn't know about this until I finished shopping in Sainsburys today and was told by "Jo" on the till in a very bright t shirt, which I hadn't noticed, that my shopping was £12.27 cheaper than shopping elsewhere! Suppose this is a bonus of sorts but may have shopped differently if I'd realised. Mind you, had my 84 year old mum with me and she keeps me on my toes by wandering off to what she wants and not waiting for me to choose my items so might need to go alone and concentrate next time. Will watch out for the recommendations on here from you lot of very astute shoppers.0
