Let's be honest, not the most amazing offer around. BUT I like that its instant and no effort - and it is something atleast. I dont think its going to bring them new customers or anything. But if like me you shop there already for other reasons, you might get a few quid back here and there as a bonus.

Will be interesting to see how it works out over the coming weeks and months. If its accurate and compares correctly etc.

If you pre-planned you would, all prices are on-line.
I guess you must have more free time than me, or at least plan your shopping better (or at all). I don't even make a list when I go shopping! However, it might be worth checking prices if the few brands I do like to buy haven't been on offer anywhere for a while. But even then I'd have to make sure I don't buy any other branded items that are cheaper at Sainsbury's as that would offset the price difference.

Really I'd just rather they had items on special offer, and I hope this scheme doesn't mean there will be fewer traditional bargains in Sainsbury's.

You'd probably save money if you planned meals, researched prices online and made a list before going shopping.

You'd spend less time in the supermarket as well, leaving more time for this website.

I generally like Sainsburys but I don't like the fact I have to spend £20. I only really shop for me and don't ever spend that as I also shop around and go to Tescos, lidl, the butchers etc. The only time I would spend that much is if I was making a really special meal or having a party. Maybe should have more parties....
Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.

I think it's quite good. I plan to get a £9.76 voucher for a £26 shop including a 12 pack of beer

    Hi...which beer was it?

I've just been looking at Sainsburys v Tesco and (with the ones I've looked at) have noticed that Tesco seem to do packs of 12 x bottles and Sainsburys are 15.

I'd plan to go to the other shop and only spend £16.24.

I sit at the computer and create my shopping list on MySupermarket.co.uk . That way I can easily see the price comparisons between the big 4 supermarkets (just click on an item and it shows the price an all the stores) , and what special offers they have.

I also like the fact that when I print it out, it's sorted by type of shopping, so it's easy to use as I schlep round the store.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)
  • I've just done a shop now. I spent £22.06, but used some vouchers I had to reduce the price to £18.30 and got a voucher for £7.67 back.

But..... looking on the other two websites, my calculations show I should have gotten £9.55 back. Has anyone any ideas on how they calculate the difference?

What do you mean how they calculate it, if tesco or asda stock the item you bought then its included but it muct be same pack size.
  • Well, when I looked on Asda and Tesco's website I calculated the difference as £1.88 more than Sainsbury's did. I did look at exactly the same things, with the same pack sizes and weights.
I've phoned their Careline and they've told me they get a price scan from brandview.co.uk daily, so I'll have a nosy at that and see if they show something different.
